Finally, nothing interesting ever happens in NY
NYC is proabably the most and only interesting thing on the east coast...
Absolutely nothing dam interesting happens here in CT...
It's the only reason why people have been making a big deal about this and the earthquake on fb/Twitter/whatev
it's sooooooo boring around here
Omg it's raining soo hard o.o
it feels like the roof is gonna fly off
Sigh...I just found out I'm in Zone A.
pink <3
jks </3
I don't know when that map the TS made was updated. I doubt some places are still pink, as even the Carolinas are only going to be hit with a Category 2storm now, instead of a catergory 3.

^^ This makes me happy. If you're in Jersey/NYC/Long Island or north, you're now only getting a Cat 1 storm. Cat 1 =/= extreme damage? XD
It doesn't matter too much how strong the winds are once it hits a populated area. It's the flooding and widespread loss of power that makes it so devastating.
Yes, stronger winds are usually associated with a strong storm surge (rise in ocean levels), so hopefully the Cat 1 will have less massive flooding. But it's still not good at all- those coastal cities aren't that far above the ocean, so it won't take much to flood the city.
And all the subways and such? Ouch- that'll be so messy if those all get completely flooded.
Hopefully it won't completely flood the coastline of massive cities like NYC.

Bring it on xD
Watch it turn into a 2 again, just to spite us New Yorkers.
I don't think Melbourne's on there, that's good.
aaah scaryy, I was in Boston last week D;
@Se7en: Yeah, New Jersey won't have it that bad. I'm mainly saying it's a threat for the Carolinas.
I'm just happy it's gonna bea 1 by the time it gets to Long Island.

I'm going to cry all weekend, but first, tomorrow I will shop for food with my family. l0l.
Wait so if you live in the pink there's a high chance of you dying?
Northeast Utilities director just said that there's a possibility of power outages for up to a week in some areas. Oh boy, it sure is great to live in Massachusetts.
Haha! im in the west coast!
A hurricane? That's hitting America?
And NOT Texas/Louisiana?
And NOT Florida.... Yep, it completely dodged us this time around. (Only thing we got was mild rains) Lulz
@alston: Dont be scared. Id be scared for the eastern North Carolina people.
This is like that hurricane from "It Could Happen Tomorrow" or whatever that Weather Channel show was called.
A hurricane? That's hitting America?
And NOT Texas/Louisiana?
@alston: From the looks of the radar no. Odds are your relatives will be fine.
Is buffalo getting hit? I can't tell. Someone please answer my special relative lives there
Yeah

Someone explain to me what a hurricane is like. I live in Vegas. I am 12 and what is this?
its a good thing that no one is in catastrophic
@NakedWhale: I'm hungry now .
@NakedWhale: Well there's always pizza, and if you hate that too the hurricane will personally come inside your house and kick your ass because PIZZA IS AWESOME.
Hehe, I'm not even on the map.
Good luck to everyone in the hurricane's path.
Im in Africa will i be effected?
I'm from the West Coast but, East Coasters, be safe.
@Vorhee: There's too much hype over it. Just stay inside, have some coco and it will be over in no time (think about it as just another rainstorm). People really are overly nervous about it... Not much reason to.
We in Central Florida are only getting a bit. For the most part, we've dodged it.
@lune: I already commented on that...
joke, no one threatens me!
I hope OBX doesn't wash away Q_Q
The folks who will have it worst are those on the East Coast of North Carolina. Right now, it appears that's where the storm could potentially make its first landfall as a major category three hurricane with winds upwards of 100 mph. After landfall, it'll weaken slightly, so, areas to the north of North Carolina may not have it as bad then... but North Carolina will get the full initial brunt of the storm, if you will.
This is NOT something that should be played around with. I STRONGLY urge anyone in those areas to evacuate and find somewhere safe to go! Anywhere away from the east and northeast U.S. coast is preferred.
If you can't leave the state, at least go inland away from the shores because storm surge will be a major concern. Right now the wave heights are forecast to be 3 feet above normal for the eastern coasts of the Carolinas. This could increase over the next day or so. If you don't evacuate after reading this, you can't say you weren't warned.
Ah you're scaring me o.o It doesn't seem bad at all outside though. (New Jersey)

wow i was looking forward to spending my last sunday b4 school at the US open watching pros up close, with no cost. Just so happens that same day is the day when the hurricane arrives there. epic fail.
Good thing I'm in Minnesota. Ain't nothing ever gonna happen here... except flooding. Oh, God, I'm gonna die.
great....im pink....
We'll we New Yorkers panicked during a 2.2 Earthquake. Im pretty sure this is in a much higher scale.
I don't think a 10 second rumbling should be considered as an earthquake
