Maplestory and Overheating

I have two main problems: my computer overheats periodically, and it overheats especially when I run Maplestory.

The laptop that I use is three years old, so it's full of little hardware problems. My problem is the latter. I have no idea why, but everytime the process is running, my computer begins overheating and eventually dies. There is no problem with restarting the process, but the problem still persists. Is there anyway I can fix this during running Maplestory?

Computer:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Pentium Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10 GHz, 4.0GB RAM, Mobile Intel Series Chipset Family

Put your laptop on a phonebook or schooltext book(not the most practical use for those but it does work)

Okay here is the serious opinion.
1. Buy a cooling fan, it can help but it doesn't always
2. Clean out you fan, just get an air cannon and blast it out.
3. Don't block your fan. It can over heat very quickly
4. Elevate your computer and leave the bottom clear (Put a book on both sides of your computer) to allow air flow threw.
5. Put a fan (a desk fan) behind your computer or pointed around your CPU fan.

I have had this same problem. I couldn't run maple for more then 20 minutes without it overheating.
see the inside and clean off the dusts. esp on the heatsink. old computers have those problems because of dusts sitting on stuff.
Clean the dust within the laptop. I did this, and the performance of my laptop turned unbelievable compared to before I cleaned it.

If that was an option, this thread wouldn't exist.
i get a coo damp semi-wet paper napkin and put it on the bottom right of my laptop to prevent overheating. Thats usually where alot of the heat builds up
I may try that. Is there any hardware or software manipulation that could possibly help?
