I always save my Master Balls for desperate situations.

I have my Master Ball on my Pokemon X. I've learned to catch them without using it

Roamers have NEVER necessitated master balls.

Option #1 Mean Look/Block/Spider Web
Option #2: Arena Trap (only the three Beasts) or Shadow Tag.
Option #3 Put it to sleep or freeze it
Option #4: Fire Spin, Wrap, Whirlpool, Magma Storm, Infestation, Sand Tomb, or Clamp
Option #5: Use Quick Balls (Especially since Roamers Retain all damage until its caught or defeated, allowing you to Red Zone it, then let it escape and then combine quick ball with low HP, which normally wouldn't be possible. This is the only situation in which you can benefit from Quick Balls 4x catch rate, without having to also have the pokemon at full health with no status)
Option #6: Skill Swap Suction Cups.

I still have my masterball on Pokemon Platinum. I caught my Giratina with a net ball .

@Archfiendz: I actually been mixing it up a bit for this gen. I been using w/e ball I find most appealing for that pokemon, so I've used dive ones and a lot of premier ballls. They look more appealing than a normal one or ultra one. I love that this game passes them down when breeding too

Yeah especially now that the poke ball you caught the pokemon in makes a difference aesthetically speaking. Pokemon centers and battles. My blaziken (Event) in its cherish ball looks so much better than my pokeball'd guys but still I am going to stick to my poke ball only vow for this gen.

In Generation III, there is a cloning glitch in Emerald that lets you dupe Pokemon/items, so l have tons of masterballs on my Gen III and Gen IV games, but l've yet to use my masterball in Gen V or VI. I used to use Masterballs for quick catching for legendaries if l needed a specific nature, so l could reset faster.
lt is fun catching Pokemon with different ball animations, especially legendaries.

Sad thing I haven't used a Masterball for a while.

Red = Used it on Mewtwo
Blue = Missingno Glitch = unlimited Masterball = Masterball on [b]everyone![/b]
Silver = I used it on Lugia
Sapphire = I used it on Rayquaza

Reason I thought that was the only way to catch these guys since Ultraballs were not working.

Since that I haven't used Masterball at all!
In Generation 4 (Soul Silver) I have two Materball (Platinum Masterball traded to Soul Silver)
In Generation 5 (Black 2) I have two Materball (Black 1 Masterball traded to Black 2)
In Generation 6 I still have my Masterball

Since the transferring to the new generation says "no items" it sucks that I can't bring my unused Masterball and rarecandies over.

I used to collect master balls in one of my games before they stopped allowing me to transfer them over to successive generations. I had at least 10 on my leaf green for no reason since I never used them. Catching legendaries in pokeballs is fun, but I like the designs on other balls better! I have a Smeargle just for catching pokes~

Evey Pokemon Master knows it should be saved for a situation like mentioned above

Only for the luls. I recall catching my Zygarde in a Poke Ball as well.
