Fresh start

I haven't played in a while since I pretty much lost everything. I'm looking to play again now and I'm practically starting new again however I still have some old rings on a mule, some crappy mitts, and about 45mil left but it's better than nothing. I was just wondering what class would be good to play or how they have changed. I'm more of a thief or warrior type of person, I never really had a knack for mages or archers and I'd say I'm mutual to pirates. I've been thinking about phantoms or dual blades since I love thieves, I heard that DKs and Paladins are quite good now too. I can't really decide anyone able to give me some insight? I'd appreciate the help.
