A friend muttered that the big, 300 MB patch is the one with the corrupted Morph.wz and said MapleStory patched aren't supposed to be that large. My new client just tried downloading that beast. I turned it off because I can't execute patches anyway.

Apparently they deleted the old ones- not sure though since I haven't been playing in a while and don't get involved with "newer items" (which I usually can't afford). It would have been sucky if they'd first released legitimate Tyrant equips and then released -whoops!- there are still illegitimate equips out there and solved the solution by erasing all Tyrant equips, including the legitimate ones. Didn't they do something similar about some duped items?

If I pay for a game, I want something worthwhile in return (like good management. Not saying Nexon's is bad per se, but they have a serious bureaucracy problem, even more than us here). I never bought NX and I'm happy I never did. I wouldn't have been frustrated beyond belief. I'm a cheapo by nature so I always think thrice before I spend any money.
As for the mods: I'm at the moment the most active of the bunch, the others are either busy in real life or they only post in specific sections. BobR for example can be spotted in the Tech section a lot.

I don't think I'd still be playing the game if I'd ever invested a penny in it (I'm cheap). The game isn't worth that IMO. But as free games go it's good enough.

Yes, it was offline for a [i]really[/i] long time. I learned to make a habit out of not playing for the first two days after the release of a new content patch. I prefer to wait until the bugs and errors have been weeded out (technically I should wait forever *cough*).
