Whats the deal with this radeon hd 6950 toxic edition
This graphics card can actually turn into a radeon hd 6970 by flipping a switch on it and rebooting. There was an exploit with 2GB 6950s, where people were able to flash the bios to a r6970, and the 6950 2GB will run better than a 6970.
Look at the card here:

oh... sorry I guess I am that late lol.
Luck. It's like Phenom II X3s, Phenom II X2s, and Athlon II X3s all over again.
I heard something about the toxic sapphare editions, working sometimes, and sometimes not working, like there's a chance of it working. What are the requirements for this gpu to work?
@DictionarE No they aren't. The Toxic Sapphire Edition is known for their BIOS Flash switch.
And to unlock, you flip the switch, it should reboot and you should be ready to go. Make sure that everything's stable though.
well it was supposed to be fixed, and i think for the 1gb models it wont work anymore. but if urs has the dual bios switch like above said, may aswell try it, u got nothing to lose

ermm, only the first set of shipments of the 6950 were able to be switched to a 6970...that is, the ones that were released around christmas and a little after (like mine ). if u just got ur 6950, then its most likely not gonna be unlockable to a 6970, cause later revisions fixed that up
ya but i just found out about this broski.
