Normal or U/a Pally?

So I'm making a new class because my bishop finally got to 200, and I decided on a pally. Question is, should I make it UA or normal? I have a 5x DW if that helps :O

I'm a UA Pally, and also a hoarder. I find it a bit difficult to really enjoy collecting things or simply stock up on pots and scrolls when my inventory is about the size of a mage's With the recent events, it's been easier, but just a fair warning; if you're a hoarder, don't do it Unless you really like the other benefits~

with Tot's quests giving you another line of equip inventory, it's not AS bad as it was before.

Also UAs were revamped to add more HP and MP to match regular explorers, but it wasn't enough
so UA pallys still suffer from lower HP, which is kind of a big-ish deal since you're supposed to be a tank.

But my UA pally doesnt suffer too much from it
UA. I'm a UA and I do dislike the less inventory space, but I'm just carrying around too much That is easily fixed with good item management, really.

you should make the UA anyway because the Empress Blessing buff is just nice overall and Soul Driver really helps because then you don't have to spam boring looking slash blast, groundsmash (and to a lesser degree, Charge Blow). It's just generally a nice character centered AoE that helps training in general. It's also good for bossing like Zak because you can hit all 6 arms at the same time. Free equips that look cool so you don't have to worry too much about getting gear until maybe 4th job. Equipping equips 10 levels lower was a huuuge nice thing for me because I was wearing empress gear by 130 and it really helped me do better damage (I don't have ACB's mastery yet). The little summon you get does minimal damage but any damage extra is appreciated.

If you're lazy and don't want to manage your inventory as much, want to grind with boring moves till 4th job, and want to really worry about equips through 3rd to 4th job, go regular pally. Just go UA Pally!
To be honest, I've played my friends UA pally. The inventory space is really bad and even he said it was atrocious. I can see how soul driver is beneficial but ultimately not as great as I thought it would be. Training through the first job advancements is really easy and I really dislike how slow soul driver is. I guess my personal preference is having room than using a skill that is ultimately replaced by a better mob skill.

I am a UA and would rather have the extra inventory space
BUT I guess soul driver still does have some use in 4th job when killing lower levelled mobs (hunting gold teeth) since we don't have any other character-centered aoe

Advantage of UA:
-You'll have the +24 w.atk buff in your beginner tab if you don't have it already
-You get soul driver, which has application in both zakum and pink bean at this time
-Free equips that work for you until about level 100 to 110, so you have breathing room to get your gear together
-Able to wear equips 10 levels over your current level (useless once you hit 150, but that's still not bad)
-You get a sexy summon that follows you around

Advantage of a regular pally:
-You don't have to level another character to 120 before starting this one
-You get the inventory expansion upon advancing to a page and therefore have more space for stuff than a UA
-The joys of training with power strike and slash blast to level 30
-The continued joys of using groundsmash (a move that completely shatters modern physics) throughout 2nd job
-The buffed Advanced Charge will potentially completely replace soul driver's few remaining niche uses

So having pointed this out, if you don't mind a slow start out of the gate, prefer having more inventory space, you have no intention of doing pb runs, or you have the cygnus buff then I'd go with a regular pally. If you don't have the cygnus buff, like to train characters mindlessly for hours, want cool free stuff, want a summon, or just plain out want to wear empress gear at 130 to impress all your friends then make a UA pally.

Hope this helps

Soul driver is nice for its vertical range, very nice for zak and PB to clear summons

As for the inventory space, just don't carry too many potions or junk and you'll be fine

And as mentioned before, the boost from empress' blessing helps a ton

I personally hate UA's. Their tiny inventory is annoying and leveling to 4th job is super easy now. I prefer maximizing my inventory slots than having soul driver which gets replaced anyways.
