There was a fix posted on the Nexon site for this- http://maplestory.nexon.net/News/News.aspx?boardNo=101&contentNo=00AFA&pageIndex=3
You need to download and install a file from the Microsoft site.
There's a link for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. Be sure to choose the right one for the version of Windows you have.
