Guide To The Threads of Fate
After completing the Mushroom Shrine theme dungeon, you can then raise the closeness of a number of NPCs that will allow you to use a skill once you reach a high closeness. To open the Threads of Fate window, you need to click the book icon on the right side of your screen, then click the mushroom shrine, followed up by clicking __[Threads of Fate] Unraveling the Threads of Fate__.
Talk to the NPCs in this window to gain closeness, and depending on how interesting the conversation is you will earn anywhere from +0-+3 closeness. Talking is limited, so you can't simply talk to them over and over to gain closeness. You must wait 1 full hour to speak to the same NPC. Also in the threads of fate window you can give gifts once daily to receive 3 closeness. You can equip up to 3 of these NPCs to gain stats on your Wings of Fate. Double click the NPCs while in the Threads of Fate window to equip them and their icon will appear in the area below. There are a couple of gifts that I don't know because I haven't unlocked them and JMS translations didn't provide useful info.

##Mushroom Shrine Gifts:
+3 Closeness daily
* Kino Konoko - Dolls from the mushrooms nearby Mushroom Shrine, they're called Sakura Mushrooms though they look like regular orange mushrooms.
* Takeno Konoko - White, Red, Orange potion, or Elixir
* Tengu - Opal Ore, Garnet Ore, or Aquamarine Ore
* Kamaitachi - Blue Dragon Hat, Pirate Hat, Thief Overall, Bowman Shoes, or Mage Gloves; all must be level 110-120 not any higher or lower.
* Kurama - Regular arrows from NPC shops, Bronze Arrows
* Ibaraki - A level 4 alchemy potion that enhances str, dex, int, luk or def; ex. Defense Potion IV, Strength Potion IV, etc. Any of these will work.
* Nue - __(Need 50 closeness with Ibaraki to finish the quest to unlock him.)__ Ramen from the NPC shop in Mushroom Shrine, Melting Cheese __OR__ Reindeer Milk
* Yorozu - Twisted Time, Alchemist Stones, Intermediate Item Crystals
* Kubinashi - Lv120 Weapon (Warrior, Pirate, Demon, accept Briser Grim Seeker, may also accept the Briser Swords
* Izuna - Alchemy Flowers, Mandarin flowers confirmed to work
##+3 Closenesss In Every Conversation:
It's important to note that once you reach 50 closeness, talking will no longer give closeness. I will be listing the conversation options in order. The first conversation choice for each NPC will have 2 choices. If you don't get the first choice listed below, press Esc and start the conversation again until you get that option. Can repeat the same conversation hourly.
* Kino Konoko - Mushroom shrine > Why doesn't Takeno come outside > I heard there were rumors __OR__ Takeno Konoko > You really care about Takeno > Bread was safe
* Takeno Konoko - Hobbies > By yourself > Comb your sister's hair
* Tengu - Things you like > What does Yorozu like > So I've noticed

* Kurama - What you hate > Afraid of > Not everyone's going to like you
* Ibaraka - Kamaitachi > Secrets > Were any other Yokai involved __OR__ Human world > Likes about human world > More human than many humans
* Nue - Likes > Takeno > Love at 1st sight
* Yorozu - Tengu > Relationship > Fond of him
* Kubinashi - Hobbies > What she does when she was alive > Good at sword
* Izuna - Dreams > What's her dream > Yokai living in mushroom shrine

##After You Reach 50 Closeness
After reaching 50 Closeness, your options are limited. You either give daily gifts for 3 closeness or you can do Tengu boss runs (or you can do both). Closeness decays by 3 each day even after you reach 100 closeness. Each Tengu boss run gives 3 closeness to an NPC of your choosing, and you can do it up to 5 times a day. That's 15 closeness per day. Tengu runs take time, though, so it's best to do them with a party. One run for me, without any missed action prompts, takes about 10 minutes. That means it would take 60 minutes or more to max out your daily Tengu runs. I would try to find one or two people to go with you on Tengu runs so that they are finished quickly.
##NPC Skills Received at 70 Closeness
* Kino Konoko - Summons Kino for access to a special shop. This shop has potions and scrolls for the Wings of Fate. The scrolls are: 100% success rate for 5 all stats, 50% success rate for 7 all stats at a 50% boom rate, 30% success rate for 10 all stats at a 100% boom rate. You can only buy 1 of each scroll. 24 hour cooldown. Shop does not reset after cooldown.
* Takeno Konoko - Uses bamboo to recover 100% of your HP and makes you invincible for 5 seconds.
* Ibaraka - Attacks, dealing 5,000,000 damage over 5 seconds. 30 minute cooldown.
* Kamaitachi - Summons Kamaitachi to let you send a message to everyone in your channel. 24 hr cooldown.
* Tengu - Buffs you and everyone in your map for 20att/m.att for 1hr with a 24hr cooldown
* Kurama - Strikes to instantly defeat 20 enemies in the map. 30 minute cooldown.
* Nue - Shows range of those nearby. Just like in the stat window, this caps at 2m and you can't see any numbers above that. 24 hour cooldown.
* Yorozu - Places 5 traps, monsters that touch the traps are stunned for 5 seconds. 30 minute cooldown.
* Kubinashi - Summon Kubinashi to teleport to another location. 24 hour cooldown.
* Izuna - Ignore DR for 5 seconds. 30 minute cooldown.

**The best combinations:**
All of these effects occur at 100 closeness with all 3 characters. Anything lower than 100 closeness will yield a lower stat. Get your desired stat combination below and maintain 100 closeness with the 3 chosen NPCs by giving daily gifts and you're golden.
* **Kino Kinoko + Kubinashi + Yorozu** - 4% all stats (the other %stat combinations only go up to 3%)
* **Kino Kinoko + Izuna + Yorozu** - +20 Atk, +20 M.Atk
* **Takeno Kinoko + Nue + Izuna** - +10% Max Crit Dmg
* **Takeno Kinoko + Nue + Yorozu** - +10% Min Crit Dmg
* **Kamaitachi + Nue + Izuna** - +5% Atk
* **Nue + Kubinashi + Kurama** - +8% Crit Rate
* **Nue + Kubinashi + Yorozu** - +8% Ignore Monster Def
* **Nue + Izuna + Yorozu** - +5% Boss Monster Dmg
* **Kubinashi + Kurama + Izuna** - +5% M.Atk

Ibaraka's skill is actually incorrect. It deals 50,000,000 dmg 5 times. Theres no DoT. Still 30min cooldown.
Hey, Yozoru also takes basic spell essence
The NPC's closseness seems to decay only if you log in on your character, for example, if you don't play for a couple of days and your closseness with Takeno was at 70, the closseness is going to decay only 3 and not 3 for each day.

@axleary2010: Forgot to mention, yesterday I tested Nue's skill in a bigger map (long horizontal). So after I used the skill a buff icon will show up and it scanned all the nearby players' ranges but if you move to the area that was outside your reach, it will scan these players' ranges as long the buff is still up. It only works within the map you used the skill, it won't scan anymore after you leave the map.

@axleary2010 has a point though, the cape is VERY good for casual people, and anyone can get it. You don't need 1m range or play with other people or any of that stuff to get it.
Base lvl 150 wing is already 28 atk + 20 atk from the combinations, thats only 2 attack short of Tyrant. The buff from tengu also helps (not related, but you do get this from farming the shrine) That's already 68 attack. I myself is sitting on +50 all stats with 5 more slots remaining.
Now this would really worth it If you can Pot and Nebulite it. Anyone willing to confirm is greatly appreciated!
PS: If you cannot Pot it, Nova is better even on top with what said above.
Takeno Konoko is also 30 min cooldown. Some boss attacks still kill you while using it, like Hard Magnus ray.

@hualicious: Right. I was just making a point. We probably won't be seeing 100 w.atk/m.atk wings of fate because you could get a tyrant with the amount of mesos that would take, but it is a possibility if you want to use the cape for end game.
@hyhfct: The 'Ask' the NPC feature just give you rewards like Spell Trace, Meso, or something like that. If nothing showed up in your chatbox, maybe you received Honor Points. I know Monster Park's Honor Points reward don't show up in the Chatbox either.

Someone else who unlocked the skill (few pages back) from Kino Konoko already said that you can only buy one scroll of each and the supply doesn't reset. It doesn't say that you can buy it once a day so he should be correct, it says there is 1 remaining.
Edit: I just went to check the shop and I can confirm that you can only buy each scroll ONE time and the shop doesn't reset. So that means you can buy the following scrolls each one time:
Wings of Fate Scroll 30% (100% destroy): +10 All Stats
Wings of Fate Scroll 50% (50% destroy): +7 All Stats
Wings of Fate Scroll 100% : +5 All Stats
So you can't scroll it 9 times with the best Wings of Fate Scroll, +22 All Stats from these scrolls is the maximum you can get, still not bad. You can finish the cape with iCoG or 30% Spell Trace which adds +7, which is good too.
Spell Trace 30%: 6x7 = 42 main stats
Example for an end result for a completely scrolled + 15 times enchanced Wings of Fate:
129 STR, 87 DEX, 87 INT, 87 LUK, 9 W.ATK and 9 M.ATK.
The above stats will be visible on the cape but the cape will have additional up to +20 W.AK and M.ATK if your character is Lv150 and the additional stats from selecting 3 NPCs to get extra stats in the Threads of Fate.
The Wings of Fate should be able to have potential. On my main I won't be using it, but I am not using a Tyrant Cape either. I have chosen to use Empress Cape for the 4th Set Stats (with Shoulder, Shoes and Gloves). My Empress Cape is Spell Traced with 30% but not enhanced to max but potentially my cape can have 47 DEX, 110 LUK and 2 W.ATK as end result. However I could use the Wings of Fate if I use an 'Abnormal Status Duration -2 sec' Nebulite on my top, but then again I can get friends to help me get a Tyrant cape.
And @axleary2010 you said it is possible to get over 100 W.ATK/M.ATK, while this is true but you also said this is an alternative cape for those who cannot obtain a Tyrant cape, which is also true, however to even get near 100 W.ATK/M.ATK you do need to spend a lot mesos and time as well. I doubt that the players who cannot even get a Tyrant Cape can even do that.
They will be better of Spell Tracing their gear with the amount of invested time and meso and they will get the results from the Spell Trace while iCoG requires many attempts with unpredictable results.

@axleary2010: Ah I see. Nova is super easy to get man, Even Easy Magnus drops it. Can you add potential to the wing?
@stickerhappy77: I don't think they're easier to get at all. Yes, you can use that buff without the wing. The wing isn't needed for any of the skills. The wing gives +100 all stats when fully scrolled with the best scroll, plus whatever it will give after enhancements. Or it could be scrolled with ICOGs and potentially have over 100 atk/matk. Coupled with the NPC effects it's definitely a good alternative for an end game cape. It looks much better than a Nova cape too.
Dunno if I skipped over some things when I was reading, but what the heck does the ask button do when you get an npc to 50+ closeness? I asked Takeno Konoko to do a task (go dance in ariant or something) and she gave me some exp, then the next times I asked Tengu and Ibaraki to farm minerals/herbs they didn't give me anything. Did they just rob me or what
@axleary2010: I get what you mean but Isnt getting Nova Capes easier? Higher stat outcome too. But hang on a sec, can you use the tengu buff without the wing? Max output the wing gives you would be 40 atk matk, plus Scrolling right? If you can use tengu buff without the wing, Nova is better, easier to get too.

@elgusanito: I tested it today and I can confirm it shows cap range 2m, my friend has 6m range.
I tested Neu's skill the past 3 days (stupid cooldown lol). I went to test 'unbuffed not capped range', 'buffed not capped range' and 'capped range 2m'.
All 3 the ranges were shown by Nue's skill and was tested on the same person.
Nue's skill scans anyone's range within your reach, although I haven't tested it in a big map with more people outside my range. After I used Nue's skill a buff icon will appear.

Kino Konoko - 24 hours cooldown, I believe someone mentioned this before but it's not updated in the thread.

So i created this account just because i was very curious about this when i saw this threat and my friend didnt want to ask it for me so
For any of u that have Nue's skill, i read it shows the range of the person but does it show over the 2m range? like rn visual cap is 2m so i was wondering if it was programed so it shows just visual cap too like shows what ur stat window show? or do calculation sepparately and show ur real range?

@stickerhappy77: This is more geared towards people that can't afford a Tyrant Cape. Wings of Fate cape is pretty much end game for those that can't afford a Tyrant, so maintaining 100 closeness with 3 NPCs to achieve a certain stat on your cape is beneficial.

@stickerhappy77: I got Kurama to 100 yesterday and today it decreased to 97 as expected. We have to put a lot of effort for this to get it to 100 and after that you have to maintain it every day.
@axleary2010 another addition info about cd, idk whether its bugged or not. I used Tengu's n Kamaitachi's skill like 9hrs b4 daily reset n the cd literally been resets at midnight PST. Well I need to double check on this again n I finally got kamaitachi at 100
EDIT: CD resets at daily reset comfirmed, n closeness still decays by 3 even at 100

@weazul: I have been giving Izuna level 1 flowers. You do need to make sure they are 'flowers' and not 'seeds'.
Kurama's skill has 30 minutes cooldown.
I will have 100 closeness on Kurama today, but on Thursday I will know if the points keep decreasing.
Edit: I got it to 100 closeness. I have the feeling it will just keep decreasing even after reaching 100 closeness, we will find out tomorrow. Kurama's skill is listed in the Beginner tab of the skill window.
I think I am going to raise Nue's closeness as next one. It also has an easy item as Gift compared to Kamaitachi and Kubinashi, these two want specific armors and weapons. I can't be bothered to hunt many items and I lack of slots to hold many.
I just closed the shop but its just a standard pot shop with a special tab

what does kino sell? is it random like the guy that randomly appears after beating the RA bosses or the guy that randomly appears in ToT? I'm wondering if its worth to get her to 100 closeness. if shes sells trait boosting items i'll consider it

which flowers does Izuna take? I have tea tree, hyssop, patchouli, peppermint, chamomile, and jasmine and she dosent seem to take any of them

I keep trying to give Kubinashi 120 equips, but she wont take them. Does she not accept equips that were crafted?
all summon unlocks at 70 closeness, I got Tengu n Kamaitachi so far. I used Kamaitachi summon to smega only on your current channel you're in. I should prolly gonna raise Kamaitachi to 100 for now

@bikuribox: Yea I assume the Lv120 weapons that don't need Scissors since Necro weapons do not work. I didn't get a Briser weapon yet to hand in. Or I didn't get the correct weapons yet.
Kubinashi accepts the Briser Grim Seeker, so I guess either of the Briser swords will work too?
@axleary2010: You need to wear the cape to see the stats from the NPCs.
Equip the Wings of Fate on your character and select (double click) 3 NPCs in the Threads of Fate and the stats will show up.
@stickerhappy77: How did you get get them to equip? When I double click them they just go to that small area below and there is no info about the stats they provide.
It seems any jewel ore is acceptable to Tengu. Confirmed Garnet, Amethyst, AquaMarine, Emerald, and Opal ores.
