Luminous or Battle Mage?

So yeah, I have about 300m to spare for these guys. I have a full empress set right now. My lumi also has the whole level 120 set that we recieved when it was released. What I look for in my characters is good mobility, good survivability, decent bossing and good mobbing. Which one of the two do you guys recommend?

@SlipperySlime: I got my il 200 and evan 200 before quiting them so it's fine. I see responding to my post with bs. You're a bishop, now it makes sense LOL.

i was in the same boat but i ended up going with bam! bam is a better bosser if you hit high! i know im not guna be hitting 50m anytime soon but bams hit super fast! and i love that about them. lumis are really slow when it comes to bossing until you have your little time to spam ender. lumis do hit harder because there dmg is stronger kind of like shad and db in a sense. go which playstyle you like more becuase you wont have fun playing a class you dont like!

I guess the general consensus is that BaM if you wanna solo bosses earlier that dont need ele reset but lumi later. Also, if you have more funds then BaM is better? amirite?

@SaucyMoose: im dead serious. im remaking my luminous lawl. I was wrong on elemental reset. luminous has it someone told me it didn't and I didn't bother checking.

they disregard my opinion because most the mage classes aren't top tier bosser/dojoer and I say that. Im not trying to convince people who don't care about the facts and just want to here people talk good about their class. I tell people stuff so they can make an informed decision when picking a class to invest their time in. I was wrong about luminous elemental reset though and kewra recently solod chaos vellum I guess but I im guessing hes like over 5mil range. Just the fact that luminous can do it and luminous having elemental reset makes it a good class though in my opinion because of all the other stuff it can do like mobbing, survivability, mobility, animations, and playstyle.

@mark24: I never claimed it to be the best class, simply correcting you on your error. Pretty immature response by the way, It's very clear as to why the other posters on this forum disregard your opinions so frequently
Both these classes strongest area is probably mobbing. Based on mobbing ability and fun I would pick luminous. Luminous is much easier to play, bam plays kinda like aran. If you can get like 5mil+ range then bam would probably be a good bosser but still has some issues that hinder it at bosses. Not sure if it can solo gms chaos vellum. Luminous def can't. I have also heard that bam cannot solo hell gollux but luminous can.

1 Major upside bam has over luminous is that it uses a staff. 5 out of the 8 mage classes can use a staff so long-term staffs are a good investment. Also bam was buffed in kms along with ice lightning mage. Bam and ice lightning might be a lot stronger when that patch hits gms.
I'm unsure on BaM as well, Although i don't really see why they wouldn't be able to, however GMS luminous definitely are capable of making the c-vel solo

Dont worry chaps, Lumi is alot funner than BaMs anyway! And more useful when coming to gollux and some other bosses

Lumi ain't the worst bosses :o or lowest dps. I'm fact lumi may be better in bossing bc of bind and equilibrium+ender spam or since Morningstar is now the best dps skill for Lumis dps charts are outdated rn becuz Morningstar makes Lumis dps way higher than a BaM

BaM needs quite insane amounts of fundings to boss adequately because of no elemental reset, even though i have over 100% boss dmg my damage is still pretty low to most bosses

If you don't have money, go Evan.
Well, Ive got their playstyles set by now since I have one of each of them level 136. What i felt is that BaM are much more durable but Lumi deals more damage over a period of time. During late game bosses, what is more preffered, range or survivability? Also, I dont think that if you die alot BaM would be in favor due to Body Boost + GLA cooldown.
Lumi DPS is lowest in the game. So don't think Lumi deals more damage over time. For bosses survivability is preferred, unless you're talking about range as in what's in the stats window. As for that, BaMs rarely die due to lots of HP and a drain skill. I have a Lumi and a BaM and I despised my Lumi because it was completely useless for literally basically everything and made a BaM instead. Lumis may have good mobbing but attack so slowly that it doesn't even matter. I would go BaM but that's obviously biased since I quit my Lumi for a BaM.

Both have similar mobility, with Lumi having a slightly better teleport range, plus having a sort of blink skill (only works in towns, else it teleports you inside a mobs closeby or slightly forward).

Lumi can take a lot of damage with his huge mana pool, but battlemage takes less damage and can drain hp while attacking, so they're slightly in favour here.

Both got their perks at bossing, BaM has a skill that gives him 40% damage while only making him able to hit 1 enemy at a time, but they are hindred by their lack of an elemental reset skill. Which causes their damage to be halved at endgame bosses like magnus, ra and empress.
Lumi does have an elemental reset skill, and a bind skill which is really useful at magnus and empress. Their biggest downside is that you can only spam ender for a few minutes before you run out of charges and you'll have to rely on spectral light and apocalypse for damage. Also when you die you lose all your charges resulting in the same effect.
At bosses where you die a lot or which take a long time BaM would be in favour.

Both got great mobbing. BaM can hit a huge area with sweeping staff at a decent speed to clear out mobs quickly.
Luminious has reflection though, they can basically hit the entire map from a single spot. It's hands down the best mobbing skill available.

So in the end they are about even, you'll have to pick the class which's playstyle you prefer more
