Calling People "Noobs"

Ok so i see a lot of New players (notice i used the word New not "Noob&quot Anyhoo i see a lot of new players asking questions on Basil

Obviously they are new and there for they don't know stuff and would like a serious answer

So why is it that everyone seems to answer by calling them "Noobs". Well yes clearly they are new to the game otherwise they wouldn't ask.

And if they are not new and they have played before it usually means they have taken a break and come back to the game and want to know whats going on.

I think everyone needs to remember that they too where ounce a "Noob" and just help these people out...

I am sure we all had a few questions when we first started so why hate on these new players just for asking a question?

As a noob, I'd prefer one of those bar thingies they sell at Potbelly's. (Dream Bars?). The ones with chocolate and caramel and butterscotch and stuff in a big cookie-bar form. Please.

People who call others "noob" for no or stupid reason are just dumb people (Idiotic trolls need I say?) who doesn't even know what a "noob" is. Flame Shield Activated!

-People who beg for Items/Mesos/Party Skills or demand that you give them Items/Mesos or use a Party Skill (say something other than "May I have -insert party skill here- please?" or "Can I have -insert party skill here- please?&quot and not say "Thank you!" if you use a party skill or throw a tantrum at you/insult you if you don't are noobs. (Note: Party Skill kiddie has NOTHING to do with age. Even adults can be party skill kiddies. It's your own fault if you get offended)
-People who KS and/or think (s)he's the best or better than you are noobs. (I'm sorry, but nobody cares who's better than each other.)
-People who defame you for no apparent reason or idiotic reason are noobs.
-People who falsely accuse you for something you didn't even do and was proven wrong all along are noobs. (It happens every time if you're new at this)
-People who falsely claim (s)he, himself/herself, is a GM are noobs.
-People who make fun of you/insult you just to dub themselves "Cool" are noobs. (Making fun of people =/= being cool. It is stupid, rude, and immature.)

That's all I have to say.

A "newb" is someone who's new to the game or online environment. A noob is someone who purposely misbehaves himself or simply someone who is annoying to insert person. On Basil Market the word is used in a context and meaning similar to "idiot" or "retard", which is why we suspend people for addressing a person with it.
such a stupid thread waste of my time you can call a person a noob if you want if you dont its great you dont need to make a stupid thread about it. Noob meens begginer so what they are noobs. jesus. what has basil come to.
I believe you're using noob incorrectly. The word you're looking for is newb/newbie, meaning a beginner or new to something. A noob is an insult that isn't very insulting at all.

"Newb" = "Newbie" as in a beginner who legitimately doesn't know their way around.
A newb would ask where Sleepywood was.
"Noob" = Insulting version of "Newb" meaning a person who may or may not be new to the game, but refuses to admit they're wrong or don't know.
A noob would tell you Sleepywood was in Orbis and freak out when you tell him he's wrong.

I always love getting called a noob.

It's like:
"Yes, you're right, you spend much more time playing this game than I do. Congratulations. If that's something you're proud of, then by all means, I gladly forfeit that title to you".
