LUK, Critical, DEX, HP, and both the def total of 6 points. If you want you can add to MP and Str. And yes Str actually adds to your range but it is so small.
Do the monsters you fight attack you at a distance or up close? They both have their own use but if you're bossing, like the person above me said, go with magic attack. Or any mob you're training on that uses magic attacks. There are a lot of them.
