Absolute best anime youve seen
It'll be hard for many avid watchers, but name one and ONLY one. The best of your best.
Mine would be Steins;Gate.

Attack on Titan
or Code Geass
1) Zetsuen no Tempest
2)Chihayafuru
3)Kokoro connect
4)Sword Art Online
5)Problem children from another world
Can't decide order, but I wish they made problem children longer.
Haruhi Suzumiya obvs.
@KevinKiri: LOL I've also watched the end of that, And im the kind of person thats like "Why watch the beginning, if you saw the end?" But for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I might consider watching it ,technically again
Samurai Champloo.
The contenders aren't even remotely close.
It is just the most perfected anime of all time.
shingeki no kyojin
@jabbathan: Wow, your cousin is an ass. Have you watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? It is the only anime I find comparable to the level of Code Geass. o.o
@Xehanort: alright, I will! thanks c:
@Cincinna: at least watch the first 3. That's what my bro said to me when he told me about it, and after the third, I couldn't stop watching it.
I guess Inuyasha.
Gintama. All 3 "seasons".
@Xehanort: ooh I'm lazy as hell, and I read at a third grade level -_- jk xD but I feel like reading does take away from animes for me, because I can pretty much read or watch I might check it out anyway though, if it's worth it~
Rurouni Kenshin
@Cincinna: oh yeah, forgot to mention, it's only subbed right now. Don't know if you mind or not, but that drives me crazy. And I don't think it's on YouTube at all, so you'll probably have to google it. I watched off an app on my phone, so I don't know how to find it on the webz.
@xehanort thanks! Ill check that one out, it sounds really good c: I love good character development; i think thats what I hated about Angel Beats... I don't remember a single character really, and I couldnt connect with anyone >.> and @mikupenguin Ill check that one out too; I've never heard of it though :o
Gin Tama
One piece
It's the only reason why I want the power to stretch like rubber now
Definitely Angel Beats.
One Piece is incredibly amazing. I thank one friend (who also uses this site) for showing me it.
It would be Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for me.
Can someone suggest me an anime? I haven't seen one in years and I've got some spare time; I kinda want to get back into them x3 I want something that's cute, but not like gushing adorable was the whole time x3 I don't mind action, I like some fighting scenes maybe here and there but I don't want like gore or war or something and prefferably something in English or spoken over in English c: and I'd like it to not be like naruto or bleach or dragon ball z; I liked Chobits if that helps~ c:
Sword Art Online seems to fit what you want. It's got an awesome story, there are some awesome action scenes without any real gore, it has some very emotional parts (or at least they were for me ), and it's not overly cute. I felt like all the major characters were very well developed, and it's got some interesting plot twists. The only downside is that it's very short (only 25 episodes)
Doctor Who is my fav Aneemay
Lol, the TS says only one but people are rambling off several... But if I had to chose, I would say Sword Art Online. Dem feels <3

I've watched quite some anime but the best, most memorable and is my absolute number 1 is Chuu2-byo
Definitely Kanokon. Such an amazing and deep storyline. I has pretty high expectations for this show and it exceeded all of them.
...Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt?
@KevinKiri: LOL yeah, I already knew about that. But I thought people would rant on all the new ones, with great graphics, but yeah, thanks
+I never finished Code Geass, my cousin spoiled it for me, So i was like ahh, i hate you, and stopped watching it :
Please tell me you guys know about HxH 2011? Or Magi? What about Toriko D:, omgee, and no one ever even talked about SNK(Shingkyeki no Kyojin, if thats how you spell it) Like the new ones? Please tell me you do D:
Not sure if sarcasm, but SnK threads pop up on Basil probably on a daily basis. Under Attack on Titan as the name. And yes, most of us would know those animes you listed. Unless you were stating specifically in the thread rather than Basil as a whole, which in that case, people still like other animes better.

Hunter x Hunter 2011
Toppa Gurren Lagann. No other.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann without a doubt.
Never had this amazing experience while watching a serie. Ep 11 + ep 25 + final ep = epic goosebumps heaven.
Stands tied between Gintama, Dragon Ball Z, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Shingeki No Kyojin :C
cowboy bebop~
Blue Exorcist: I picked it up and was insta-hooked
I have a thing for the occult
I have others too; cannot simply put one as the top as they're all equally good
Some off the top of my head:
Gundam 00
Code Geass
Guilty Crown (lol flame shield on)
Deadman Wonderland
Mirai Nikki
1/4 on Ergo Proxy (it's bloody amazing dystopias are always amazing to watch)
Neon Genesis Evangelion + Rebuild Series
All of Ghost in the Shell (I have a thing for sci-fi cyberpunk too :L )
Psycho Pass
And soo much more
@bleachedguy: There needs to be more anime like lain, something sensual (I haven't watched it so please )
Code Geass
sorry for stealing thread but, anyone want to recommend me an anime for someone whos new to anime lol.
Serial Experiments Lain.
By far the greatest I've seen.
I don't have an absolute #1
Too many genres to be able to decide.
If I can throw in movies into the category then...
It's tied between Code Geass, Haruhi Suzumiya, or Samurai Champloo
Most likely it's gonna be Samurai Champloo though.
Deciding on #1 is easy for me: Code Geass.
Listing my top 5 would be harder, but here it is anyway:
1) Code Geass
2) Clannad After Story
3/4) Steins;Gate or Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
5) Kimi ga Nozumu Eien
FMA: Brotherhood and Neon Genesis Evangelion are right after that.
Same. #1 is easy for me. Code Geass tops it. It blows every other story line out of the water. Not to mention all of the meaning in it and all of the things you have to think about while watching. It's kind of like Death Note.
Here's my list
1. Code Geass
2. Steins;Gate
3. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
4. Angel Beats, story line was kind of short but I enjoyed the the main character
5. Clannad, I guess it would be #5 if I actually ever decide to watch it hahahah. I bought the whole series but ended up selling it on ebay/amazon for profit XD!
reborn or the familiar of zero
Yu Yu Hakusho.
love lab is one of the least manly animes i've seen yet i loved it.

I guess the best anime ive seen last season was maou sama, right now monogatari or love lab tho
love lab is one of the least manly animes i've seen yet i loved it.
Boku no Pi-.. nah I wouldn't do that to you guys.
Some of you guys have great taste! Mine would have to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan.
I guess the best anime ive seen last season was maou sama, right now monogatari or love lab tho
yu yu hakusho.
i could watch that show a million times, and never get tired of it.
