Skill Book Questions
So, I've never had a 4th job char before and I'm lvl 114 so I'm almost there. I always see skillbooks and stuff but I dont completely understand them...
What I do know is that you have to use them and if they succeed I THINK the skill gets to 20....right? xD.
Idk. Can some smart 4th job pro dude just explain to me?

They increase the level at which a skill maxes out, so you can put more SP into it, making the skill stronger.
The level 20 skill book doesn't actually advance the SKILL to level 20, it just lets you add more SP to the skill, up to level 20.
Then the level 30 skill book lets you advance the skill up to 30 by adding SP as you earn them.
All it does is raise the top limit on the skill. You still have to earn the SP by leveling.
You have two types of mastery books: level 20, and level 30.
In order to use the mastery books, you must have at least 5 SP/15 SP in that specific skill in order to use the level 20/30 mastery book. If said book works, then that skill will advance to that level. You must get the level 20 book to work first, before you can use the level 30 one.
