dont you hate when your Tv signal messes up?

so i wanted to watch a few shows i had recorded, come to find out the signal coming through was so horrible, i couldnt stand to watch what i wanted to, so now im 1 episode behind on American Horror Story Coven, and i cant find the episode online or on Hulu Plus.

how can your signal get so messed up when you have cable (which should be more reliable than satellite) anyways?

i hate how these shows dont do reruns, so you could wait well over a year if you miss an episode and your media streaming choice doesnt have it (i had Netflix, but they get so behind and it got to be where there wasnt much i would really consider watching anyways, so i canceled and kept going past the 1 week free trial on Hulu Plus), im behind several seasons on Warehouse 13, and 1 season on Arrow, and now an episode of AHSC and i hate it.

thats fine if you can find everything, but unless you can pay $2-$3 an episode, thats unlikely if you like the kind of shows i do (where as i said, they dont do reruns, and they let a really long time pass before leasing out episodes to media streaming services)

Shame that FX doesn't put up their more recent episodes online so you'd have to go for alternatives.
Cable TV signals can suffer from weather effects if you have bad connections/connectors in the cable(s) into your house.
The plugs and connectors can oxidize over time and end up attenuating the signal to the point where the picture is badly degraded.
If you call the cable company and have a cable technician come to the house they can use a "signal strength meter" to localize the problem and replace any parts that are causing the problem. I had to have that done one time and they ended up running a new cable from the house to the telephone pole in the backyard, no charge.

If you're talking about the "freezing" and "blockiness" problems that come and go, that's caused by transient dropouts and the resynchronizing that has to be done to catch up to the video stream. That's can be caused by weather in addition to bad connectors. This past week with the sub-zero temperatures that was happening a lot to my signal, probably because the equipment between my TV and the cable company was frozen solid. That kind of thing usually "fixes itself", but if it happens a lot you should call the cable company and complain.

And I feel your pain... the power went out during one of the recent storm events and the TiVo couldn't record all the final episodes of the season.
its closer to the 2nd one you described, and it almost never happens when new shows come on, and this is the first time it got so bad on a show that they dont do reruns of, its odd because i can usually go over a month without having such a bad signal on any channel, at any time, and then there are some days where i will check half a dozen different shows and none of them come through with a decent enough signal to watch.

also sometimes i can reset the DVR and everything clears up, other times it wouldnt matter how many times i reset the DVR, it wouldnt clear up

Are you trying to get a signal with tin foil and two metal sticks?

The last time my TV signal ever went out was about 10 years ago. And I've had cable, satellite, and that free ~10 channel cable.
That episode was pretty good too. Lots happens, so here's hoping you can get it up and running.
dont you get it? recorded scrambled signal cant be fixed, and there is no catching up unless i pay $1.99 for the episode, or wait until the whole season comes out and buy the whole thing (likely for $35-$40),

or until some streaming service gets the go ahead to lease out the episodes, which can take over a year as the people making the shows are greedy (they want every last cent they could possibly make from selling DVD's and Blu-Rays of the shows before they will lease episodes out, for example warehouse 13 is on season 5 or 6 (if still going) and Netflix has only caught up to season 3) , they seem like the type to complain that they had to buy an Audi/Mercedes (or other not quite supercar brand) because they couldnt afford a Ferrari due to media pirates.

I never have this problem because I don't watch TV.
