doesnt the Usps suck?

so, whether or not i will do business on eBay again is up in the air, if i do decide to keep messing with eBay, i will for sure be more careful with packaging (i know im an idiot for this, but i never thought about packaging it with an extra case so it wouldnt just be the game in a mailing envelope, didnt get a case with the game, and didnt think about the extras i have from having a thief of an older brother (which in short may never end up in the same state as me again, which is a relief as i hate him and hate thinking about all the stuff hes stolen from us when we have given him way too many chances to grow up and leave drugs behind) )and perhaps put extra policies in place (because some low positive feedback scum, bought a game, then he got it and almost a week after having it he opened a case to try to get his money back, needless to say, i won out in the end and got 35 for a used LoZ OoT that i paid 31 for from best buy, so i like to think after fees and shipping i roughly broke even).

anyways, sent out a package going to PA on the same day as several other packages, another of which was going to another city in PA, this one package was lost for almost 5 weeks now on what should have been a 3 day transit and i have so many questions in my head of what the package was doing all this day, day 1 and 2 were as expected days 3 through up until a few days ago, nothing

in the past few days the tracking says it was found in PA 6 days ago, went to Rochester, NY (huge city close to where i live, which by definition is really this monster area with a lot of cities under it), then to my local city, and now back to Rochester, so i have no clue whats going on

will it come here? will it go to its destination? will it even have the game i sold? does the customer even still want/need the game? as far as customers go, ive had a good one and ive been lucky to get a delay in the conclusion of the case as tracking information started showing it was moving, out of nowhere on week 5.

so much aggravation leads me to think, would i be better with another carrier? cost difference? security (will they do the same and have a package on what seems like a goose chase, going through 3 cities and 2 states?) ? was i too late to try to beat the extra traffic the USPS must get around the holidays (originally sent out on December 2nd)?

A package getting lost for almost 5 weeks should never happen regardless

I've used USPS shipping exclusively for all my eBay selling and never had a problem with it.
They carry such a huge volume of packages that there are bound to be problems like you've described. You were just unlucky enough for it to be you that it happened to.

I haven't shipped anything by UPS lately, but in my reading online they've had a reputation for handling packages badly and not dealing with damaged packages very well.
Again, with a huge volume there are bound to be some problems now and then, but the horror stories are enough to keep me going back to the post office, especially for small packages. Also, in my experience, UPS was more expensive for small packages. Their "economy of scale" doesn't kick in until you're shipping crates of bricks or TV sets.

Well, unfortunately for me, I'm halfway through eBays generous extension of 15 days, and the customer dominates this case as the USPS delivered one package to PA just fine, the other was up in the air for over a month since day 2. I would really hate if the person already bought it from another source or if it arrived here or there empty, but at this point all I can do is keep waiting.

UPS is what they use for Amazon Prime. They usually take 2 days to deliver

Oh really, because it would be really unfortunate if UPS and others lost packages on day 2 of what should take 3 days to deliver

I've actually kept bringing up how the package hasn't moved since day 2 up a lot, eventually got forms to fill out about the package being lost, then got no response back and didn't realize the package started moving until January 11th (started moving on the 8th), and yes this particular package was uninsured, regardless, I'm amazed things went this way, most people would think a 3 day journey would be safe for a package, but apparently not.

What good will calling about an uninsured package do?

Strange, Dec 2 is well before the holiday rush.
You should be able to view all the different rates and stuff when you put your item to sell.
I've always done priority/flat rate shipping depending on the weight and size and it hasn't failed me yet.
