how long do you think itll be until
PS4 and its games costs gets reasonable? I have rarely paid full retail on home console games, in fact most of the time I prefer to pay $20 or less per game, otherwise I'd probably get really upset at diminishing value (one would have to buy games soon after release and go through them and sell them quickly otherwise), I've just never had thebudget for that, nor have I ever preferred to go through games quickly (I like to get full or near full completion and enjoy all a game has to offer), at any rate, this is just an inquiry as I have a virtually new PS3 right now anyway and will be going through all the undervalued games while playing the waiting game. My guess is around 1.5-2 years before price of PS4 and games gets to my comfort level.
$400 for the sytem is a good price... $60 for a game like 2k14, call of duty is also a good price... Game like 2k14, call of duty usually drop before the new one come out which is every year during Q4... Usually price drop before september/october..
For me I feel the opposite. It has to have good single player for me to want to spend full price on it, and games like 2k14, cod, etc have long playability only if you do the online. Otherwise they're short and not a huge change from the single player experience from the year before.
@BBisUnbalance You also have to keep in mind that it depends on the game. If it's a popular, the price will go down really slowly and might take a really long time to go under $20, especially if you go to somewhere like gamestop. Like Tales of Vesperia on the 360, it came out in 2008 and gamestop has it for $35 still (although on amazon there are some copies under $20).
And I don't think there are any "limited print" games on the PS3, but that also keeps the price high, if there aren't many copies available. All in all, for the popular games being released now, you may have to wait 2-3 years to see them under $20. It's only the games that don't sell well (or get sold back quickly) that drop like a rock.
But I know the feeling of not wanting to spend the full $60. I usually only do that for games that I really really want to play (plan on paying full price for Persona 5 at the end of the year lol). It also helps if you can find a small time game store in your area, as they usually have cheaper prices and pay you more for used games than major chains do.

Your going to need to wait until 2016. Most of the big games are scheduled to release in 2015, and will take at least a year to devalue to 20-40$.
I'm so backlogged on games, its not exactly hard to get at least 100 hours of quality gameplay for $60 or less, besides $60 per game is almost always out of the question for me, my budget just isn't that high, not to mention $400 for the system.
Even for the PS3, games that have been released 1year ago are still $50-60.
You maybe need to wait a year....or more.
