So apparently Sopa and Pipa are smokescreens
We all know of how badly SOPA and PIPA can affect freedom of speech. Now that they have been dropped, attention is drawing to ACTA.
ACTA: the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement
Anyone heard of ACTA? I don't know much about it, and I've only recently found out of its existence, so I'll let
this video explain it for me.
Yes, this is old news. However, people have been forgetting about ACTA recently because of the hype over the two smaller acts. SOPA and PIPA were used as diversions to clear the path for ACTA.
This bill has had attention since last year, but SOPA and PIPA have successfully convinced the majority of thinking that they are more important. It has virtually flew under the radar for several years.

We honestly can't do anything about ACTA. We can only try to change to laws that are required to enforce the treaty. Also SOPA and PIPA were not smokescreens. They were actual threats that would have passed without the help of Google and Wikipedia.
ACTA is virtually unstoppable at this rate. Because it is a treaty, it doesn't need the public's vote. The only way to get rid of it is if everyone in the world decides to get off their asses and speak up against it.
New world order!
New world order!
This has been around for a long time now. I recall making a thread about it probably two-three years ago. After what happened with the recent outbursts, threats, and hacking violence, committees won't pursue this bill.
Then why don't we fight against it, o-o America did it against SOPA and PIPA I'm sure we can reject ACTA also
It's not just America. Many different countries have been involved in discussing this bill.
