Kids these days listen to complete crap
Almost every generation thinks their music is better than the next generation's music. You hear it from your grandparents, your parents, even your older siblings, "Your music is complete crap, back in my day we had real music."

i listen to (mainly) popular songs today, as well as hits from the 1960s+.
Stupid, edgy, neckbeards/fedora-wearers will tell you that.
I find neckbeards are often in so much denial about themselves that they seek out extreme versions of themselves and call them "edgy" and "fedora-wearers"
I hate how people say music is "crap." Okay, there are a lot of really bad songs out there, but if we talk about actual successful artists here... Their music isn't "crap." It just doesn't suit your preference. You can DISLIKE music, but I really do not understand why people say it "sucks" or is "crap," We all have our own tastes. Music is something that comes from the soul. If you say it's crap, you're calling whoever wrote it someone with a crappy soul and that's offensive. A lot of these artists write these lyrics hand in hand with events that happen in their real lives. You can't just kick them to the curb like that.
But, what do I expect from a teenager. One day you'll learn.
Well I mean, the majority of the music I listen to was from the 80s on average probably. So yeah the 80s.
Le wrong generation, only 90's kids will get this, blah blah blah.
I think the really nice thing about modern music (and modern art in general) is that there's a growing focus on the perceiver rather than the artist. Music isn't about showboating your finger dexterity anymore, it's about evoking emotions and feelings in your listeners. In my opinion, that's a good thing.
My tastes consist of anything that I like. I have everything from K-pop to heavy metal in my playlist, going from Cody Simpson to game OST and Monstercat.
Anything and everything can sound nice, it all depends on your tastes.
th-this guy gets it.
im pretty sure it just the rap pop hip hop ratio that kinda suck
it doesnt matter what generation the music is from, it only matters what taste u have and what music is available for u to listen
like if i only ever listened to the radio i could say that this generation has crap music, but thanks to the internet i have a multitude of genres and artists to listen to that i would not hear in mainstream media outlets
Music will always change and people will always say it used to be better around the time when they liked what music was.
This will never change.
What a stupid thread.

This is totally subjective.
I love hiphop, RnB, ballads, indie, and house/EDM.
I also listen to classical.
Some of these genres existed from long ago, and some just recent became popular.
It doesn't really matter in my opinion.
I mean it does depend on your music taste I guess
