Why is British Columbia so Annoying?

You know what ticks me off? What ticks me off is how in BC I can both vote and consent to sex at 18, but I can't gamble, drink, get a credit card etc. until 19?

Wait, let me change that... why cant I LEGALLY do those things? I do them anyways, why should I have to do it illegally?

Don't say "extra maturity" because those extra 365 days aren't going to change diddly squat.

If I missed any letters in this post ignore it, I type too fast and my keyboard tends to miss a letter now and then.

It has to do with your example.

Just FYI, I don't talk on the phone or text while driving, I'm not THAT stupid, but I do like to listen to music via my iTouch. I only really change songs if I'm at a red light or on a long stretch of road. don't usually put songs on my iPod that I don't like.
I very rarely drive with other people in the car. Maybe my parents once in a while. I don't from the road to change music on my iTouch. The once times I have been close to an accident were when

1) Road is being renovated and I went through a huge puddle, blocking my vision and pulling me to the right. Save it.
2) I almost hit a cop because he blew through a stop sign on a blind corner with no lights or siren.

I don't "think" I am the exception, I AM the exception.

Sorry, I had to say it lol xD jk btw
...What does somebody being in the car, have to do with you being distracted while yelling and crying on the phone, being distracted enough to blow the redlight or plow into traffic on the high way..?
I mean, I personally can buy alchohol since I live in a small town (And it help that people usually think I'm in my 20's) but why can't I do it legally?

Look at Alberta. You can drive at 14. You can do everything else at 18.

Kids are starting to mature at a lower age, but the age for all the fun stuff keeps rising. Soon enough it will be 21 etc.

And this no handheld device while driving law is annoying too. I can drive fine and change music without being distracted. And the N! I got a ticket for $109 a few months back for not displaying my green N sign. The cop didn't even care that I was the designated driver and driving someone elses car.

Just ranting.

Edit: Thought I might add this in, since I AM on basil... I'm born and raised Williams Lake, BC.

To add some more...

My parents gre up in a world where it took WEEKS to get your full licence and the drinking age was lower. They turned out perfectly fine.
And the one moment you're distracted, perhaps you and your significant other are arguing, and you are not paying attention, boom car accident. Our laws are here for the preservation of the country/province as a whole. Just because you think you're the exception, doesn't mean the rest of the country/province is too.

Coquitlam, BC, Canada.

i don't know your whacked up history
but yeah, it's 21 in the US because they thought it would be cool to withhold highway funds until everybody agreed to that age limit.

In America, you have to be 21. Stop whining.
