Ant Infestion Problem

Well, the weather is getting warmer and the snow is melting - which is awesome, but ants are starting to infest my house as they did every year. Though now, it's worst then ever as they came in larger numbers, they're in my room, kitchen, basement - all over the place crawling on and in stuff which is now getting disgusting. Does anyone know a good solution to get rid of them? Thanks in advance.

Alright everyone, thanks for your suggestions, I'll try them all.
Also, @MonkeyPokey It beats them being alive and crawling into my food, sleeping in my bed with me and everything. I'd rather them be dead and/or immobile to a specific spot.

I had a Ant, Stink bug, and house centipede infestation. you get used to them. Next thing you know you'll snatch them without even thinking

There's an extermination product around with the general name of ant chalk. Just draw lines (like chalk) where you don't want ants to go or where you know they walk on i.e windowsills, by the trashcan, near holes in the wall. The ants will walk over the chalk which is highly toxic to them and after giving messages to other ants (which involves physical contact) the chalk will spread around to nearly the whole colony and kill most of them. If you wanna see some videos a lot are on Youtube.
Hope this helps

and at the guy who suggested cornmeal, I tried doing that by placing a decently sized lump by their hole but they never took it haha

i had this last year, all you need to do is kill the queen ant and they all go away. or buy one of those poison things that are disguised as food

I remember another thread about this, and one Basiler suggested using Ant Chalk, which repels the ants from the area where drawn over.
Spray some poison?

@Banananas Sounds like a weird solution, but I'll try it.

Chalk powder. Just dump it on 'em or create a barrier near your doors and windows so they cant come in.
Works well.

@powerpwrstr I don't know where their ant mound is
@FairyFail Are you certain that it will work? Because wouldn't food attract more ants? Sorry I'm kind of clueless when it comes to insects.

That's my final option, I'm trying to find home remedies to try and get rid of them for a cheaper price and with a smaller risk for any dangerous residue leftover.
