It was the end of January 2012, the game was EXTREMELY laggy and unstable for about a week, and Nexon kept the game up because they were trying to figure out what the issue with the servers was. (They claimed it was server malfunctions, but the popular opinion at the time was that it was a DDoS attack.)

They eventually had to rollback about 3 days because people were abusing the crashing to dupe, and they gave everyone:

ALL DAY 3x EXP/Drop from Jan 27 - Feb 5 (Extended to Feb 8)

Update: The connectivity issues have been resolved as of 7:20 PM Pacific. Cash items in your inventory have been extended to cover the amount of time the game was unavailable plus an additional 48 hours.

I'm also interested in this, I don't think the game was ever down for a week.
Three days at most, iirc it was during the 4th Job update.

not entirely nexon's fault. besides, its happened before.

The only time I've seen Nexon give us items and stuff for extensive downtime was for... well, extensive downtime. The game was practically unplayable for a week, before. They gave us compensation as an apology. This time, the game was down for... less than 24 hours? I can maybe see an extra 2x event given to us, but that'd be about it.

I think it's just you.
