Peridots and parties

If I make a party and they help me kill harpies, will it increase my chances of getting peridots?
I was helping my friend and yes you can only see them not anyone else, and usually parties mean you can cover a wider area with minimal effort so I believe it worked, yet i also feel lyk it is just how lucky you can get since I couldn't see any harps dropping Periodts, (My friend was the Cygnus I was just a helper). Only took us lyk 2 hrs no 2X drop or anything
what does lyk mean?

@Genostigma:

And your 100% sure that I'm wrong?

I used to think that as well but one day changed it all. So I went to blood harps to go start hunting for peridots the first few channels I came upon had people in them so I kind of just watched them for a bit then cced. On the 3rd channel no one was there and there was my first peridot lying here hidden among all the etc/mesos. There was obviously someone else there before me and it wasn't me. Yes I was at blood harps earlier that day but I don't think that peridot was from then simply because it's been well over 30mins since I last left.

Wrong. The person does have to be in the party for the peridots to drop. Example: If he and his friend weren't in a party and he left his friend do all the killing while he stayed afk...guess what? There will be absolutely no peridot drops.

Everytime you kill a harp, you have a chance at a peridot. Therefore, it makes sense that by killing more harps in the same amount of time, you get more chances at peridots o3o. So having your friends help you would increase the speed at which you gain peridots assuming that you can't kill everything on the map before they all respawn already.

On a side note, if you still have your mapler ring, you can party up with a ring mule to gain 1.5x drop.

I paid some random guy 1 mil per peridot i'd find as long as he was helping me. he was hunting a particular mastery book (which only randoms exist now) so it benefitted him to stay with me because i told him he could have whatever books fell.

so yeah... it helped out at blood harps because we stuck to platforms we could reach and kills were increased. i was on the honor system though since only i could see them. but i paid the man 10 mil before the day was over :-)
fyi he was a wild hunter and i was a TB. his kills shown 6 of the 10. i paid him the extra 4 because i was thankful to have his help
