IIRC they are tradable until equipped, just like any other empress item in existance.
Nexon are too lazy to make a whole new untradable version of the item, AND make it count in the set effect system.

Farming isn't really possible, I suggest you collect boxes from monsters around your level and open it.
It has a decent chance to give you Black Friday coins.
Otherwise, just login on daily basis, and play along with this event.
