Question about enhancement scrolls. Cant find an answer

Alright, so I can't seem to find an answer when I googled it, so I was hoping that you guys could help me out.
I always thought that an enhancement scroll could increase the stats of whatever natural stats that item has. For example, if a glove has attack on it when its clean, I thought an enhancement scroll had the chance to give it more attack. I am asking because I wanted to enhance my dragon khanjar, but I dont want to waste a ton of resources if it doesnt give attack. I tried googling if enhancements would give khanjars attack and most of the responses were either, yes, no, or "sometimes but it is rare." Which, obviously doesnt help me at all. If anyone can give me a for sure answer, that would be great! Thank you so much!

P.S. It seems like something I should know after I have played for so long, but I never bother enhancing anything besides weapons I guess...
You'll start to get attack after a certain number of EE. For example it will start adding attack after the 6th or 7th star. Could be 8th, I forgot the exact number. This is for shields and gloves. Not sure about other armors.
Never EE'd anything besides a weapon, but isn't this only true for superior items, not ordinary gloves or shields?

@rlatjr
Is correct. You start getting attack/M attack(depending on equip) starting the 5th - 7th EE.

Hmmmmmmmm. Gold Emerald Earrings dont have any base attack. So you are saying they got extra attack from enhancing an earring, because that earrings had attack from using att scrolls? That confuses me more....

Edit: Oh thank you for the other posters as well. So it sounds like I might be able to get some attack on my khanjar. Interestinggggggggggggggg. I feel like it might be fun but maybe it isnt worth it for 2 attack! lol. We will see! You all have been very helpful! Thank you so much. Feel free to update me with any new info anyone has!

I'll give my experience with EE'ing an equip that has less than 50 attack.

I had an empress glove that I scrolled to 32 attack back in the day, also around the time that protection scrolls were being duped like crazy. Because the glove originally had 5 attack on it I thought i would try EE'ing it to get more attack on it because i had about 70 prots on me at the time. I successfully landed 3 enhancements in a row, but to my surprise no attack was added. It stayed at 32. But I have seen gloves with 33,34, hell even 40 attack before. The answer I believe is yes they can add attack but I do not think it is a 100% guarantee if the equip has less than 50 attack. If anyone thinks what I'm saying is false feel free to correct me. I'm only giving my experience.

@br333 No real proof, never happened for me either. But some friends of mine, and people I know have gotten like 1-2 on some lucky enhances. I think I recall seeing some 21-23 attack gold emerald earrings with multiple enhances (possibly enhanced from a regular, duplicated 20 attack one), and some 28-30 attack VSS (back when there were only the duplicated 27 attack ones). Was a while ago, so I don't remember entirely.

Maybe what I remembered was actually what the person above me said (gloves).

only weapons (and superior items after a certain number of enhances) get attack from EEs reliably. it's not 100%, but very high, for weapons, at least
gloves apparently can get attack, but it's rare.
I have not heard of other items without natural attack (but have atk from scrolls) gaining attack
on shields(khanjars) I have absolutely no clue lul. hope the other stuff helped though, it's probably 90% accurate.
They're right. The only items that definitely give attack upon enhancement are weapons and "superior" items like heliseum, nova and tyrant.
It's not worth enhancing anything else, unless you have a lot of money to work with, and don't mind spending a bunch of protection scrolls.
So there is a possibility of weapon attack on an item that has base stats with w.att? You are for sure?
