Cant Connect My New Mouse to my Laptop
I just bought a HP Touch To Pair Mouse and after turning it on, and holding the mouse's "connect" button for about 20 minutes, my laptop still hasn't discovered it yet. My laptop is a HP Pavilion m6-1035dx and this mouse connects by bluetooth.
How do you know if you have bluetooth on my laptop? And on the microsoft website AND Help guide of the Control Panel, it says that if the device is "bluetooth-enabled", then make it "discoverable" to connect to it, so I don't think the laptop needs bluetooth.
The HP specs on this laptop don't indicate bluetooth is included: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03383025#N46
If the mouse didn't come with a little USB plug-in to go into the laptop's USB port, then the laptop HAS to have bluetooth built in. It doesn't look like yours does.
(Note that "wireless" is something different from "bluetooth". Just having WiFi doesn't mean it'll also have bluetooth. )
These guides from HP show how to check whether the laptop has bluetooth, as well as diagnosing typical bluetooth connectivity problems: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01948661&lc=en&product=5273902&tmp_track_link=ot_search

Edit- After Googling the mouse itself, it doesn't look like this one is going to work with your laptop.
"Touch to pair" uses a new technology called "NFC", and the laptop has to have NFC built into it.
Something like this would be suitable for a laptop that doesn't have bluetooth built-in: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-001822-M510-Wireless-Mouse/dp/B003NR57BY
Notice the small gizmo that looks like a tiny USB flash drive... it's a bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the laptop's USB port and links the laptop to the mouse wirelessly via bluetooth.
Check if you have the drivers?

what kinda mouse use bluetooth?
Does the mouse use a replaceable battery, or is is rechargeable..?
If it uses a battery, try replacing the battery.
If rechargeable, make sure it's fully charged.
And yes, make sure your laptop has bluetooth, and that it's enabled.
make sure blu-tooth on your laptop is enabled, and also what ^ said
