Unbuntu to work like windows?

Well as you may know maplestory only runs on windows. Since my windows computer decided that it was going to melt down i have had to switch to unbuntu and i heard there was a way to make unbuntu work just like windows XP on the internet. I was wondering if anyone knew how to do the or would like to help me do it.

Ummm.... Ubuntu is never going to "work just like Windows"... it's a completely foreign operating environment.

What you've probably heard is that it's possible to "emulate" Windows on a computer running a Linux operating system. This involves using an "emulator" program that allows you to run Windows on the Linux computer, which can then run the Windows application you want. This may or may not work very well depending a lot on the Windows application. MapleStory in particular is a problem, mainly because of HackShield and DirectX (the Windows graphics handler used by MapleStory).

A lot of people have tried to get it to work, but this is the only example I've ever heard of where someone claims to have done it, and explains in detail how it was done:

Note that you will need a copy of Windows to make it work, as well as the commercial program VMware, which is the emulator.
