Fusion Anvil Scams

On the new Cash Shop update, it states on the section for the Fusion Anvil:

Fusion Anvil does not use up the APPEARANCE item.

This will increase the frequency of scams, due to one being able to use a single Empress item 100 times to cover noob items.

Just wanted to warn everybody!

EDIT: I know there's text and everything, and you'd have to be stupid to fall for it. But without a doubt, there will still be some people who will try this, thinking it'll work. Whoop de doo!
Say I fuse a untradeable item I want the stats on and then looks with a tradeable thing, would the outcome item be tradeable?
I doubt it, it just makes the untradeable item LOOK like the tradeable one is all.

Vilayyy2o3: It be awsome if u could use nx items

Vilay, you do realize the purpose of nx items is to cover up bad looking equipment already... don't think you understand this anvil item yet.

Anyone have an idea if you'd be able to mask a VIP Katara with a Dragon Khanjar?

Basically this item is like, if you don't have a good pair of specs, but a really good like... any other face accessory because its easier to get higher stats on (%), you can make the crap looking good item, look like specs and have really good goggles. The scam isn't really a scam because the item is still the same look and the same stats, its not like the "specs" in this case, would vanish after a while. Nothings missing, no scam will happen.

@andrewthepro: Because what he says applies too. I'm not accusing you of scamming (whether you actually did or not I could care less about), but people do use Leather Arms to scam. I'm sure you know this part since you mentioned it.
The anvil costs 2.7k NX. The Leather Arms sell for 6k mesos. Do the math.
@jrealdeal: Ohhh, awesome then. But it still costs 2.7k NX.
Yeah, everything has its price. But least this is permanent. not like NX clothes that expire in 90 days. You can mix up class gear for a unique look.
ever heard of the Lvl 15 knuckle scam with Leather Arm? yeah you probably haven't you seem new here. it has 22 weapon attack clean, i put it in my shop for 1bil and someone bought it thinking it was a work glove. this will be the same thing
I'll just copypasta what @Gregorius typed.
People won't get scammed if they're smart.
People won't get scammed if they take the time to look at what they're getting before hitting 'Trade'.
People won't get scammed if they don't fall for 'whoops, you were too slow' tricks.
People won't get scammed if they decide to help themselves to what they really want.

Besides, you have nothing to lose when you try to scam people using Leather Arms. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure you buy it from an NPC, not the Cash Shop.
Heyyy um, I don't quite understand that Anvil thing, does it like fuse both items, so you loose one, or it simply changes the appearance of the second item?
It dont acutally fuse the items. It makes one look like another while keeping the stats.
Take my case for example.
I have specs, but Pot teir is limted cuz of the lvl of Specs. I can use the Anvil to make a Pair of kenta Goggles look liek Spectrums, while keeping the stats of the Kenta's.
I wana get my goldy staff, and fuse it with a VIP gin
Can't cross-fuse items.

hats -> hats
staves -> staves
overall -> overall

can't go

hat -> eye
gun -> sword
face -> cape

Well you make profit from the scam, since the anvil costs about 125-150m. But since it's Nx, it's awfully inconvenient to scam in this scenario.

People stupid enough to fall for this scam probably don't have enough mesos to buy anything, with significant profit for the scammer. Keep in mind it is like 2.1k nx per anvil, and they are much more likely to be scammed other ways then this.

It still costs 2.7k per Anvil, so if anyone is stupid enough to do it with Empress items then they won't even make any money off it.
If you're stupid enough to fall for this scam you should feel bad.
A lot of impatient people in the FM don't even hover over the item, they just assume that it is what they say. Ex: people who buy scrolls usually just assume it is what they're advertising

Wait...who would be stupid to waste 2.7k nx on noob itens waiting for someone to fall on this trick? the chance to fall on this is low considering that the item will have a mark that Anvil was used on it..
@KittyLove3: They have to be the same equipment type, so a spear wouldn't work with a pole-arm if I recall correctly.

And no, if that were possible, you'd have a godly Eclipse masked as a Fairfrozen.
I had a feeling it wouldn't work.. Although, it would be so cool.
Thanks for answering <3

it also costs 2.7k NX each anvil. so for a lot of cases not even worth the investment.

I have a question: If I buy a Fusion Anvil and place my godly Eclipse in the "Function" slot and a clean Fairfrozen in the "Appearance" slot, will I get a Fairfrozen with the stats of the Eclipse? I'm wondering if the weapons have to be in the same category because one is a polearm and one is a spear. It would seem pretty weird if I appeared to be using a Fairfrozen, but the mouse-over showed it as a polearm.

Why would you spend 2.7k nx to make some crap into an empress item that is worth 50m at most?y
The real idiots here are the ones who try to do that.
@Harmonioze
Give person with gloves item, gift anvil, they anvil, get back item?

S> rank 1 dojo glove service for 100m if anyone in windia is interested.

Considering how big of an investment Empress can be, it's your own fault if you don't even look at the stats.
