Yes, but huge amounts are almost always because of failed installs, not from screenshots.
We're talking 3+ GB per temp folder here.

Real answer: Maplestory will take up ~3.16GB hard drive space AFTER it is installed.

BUT- in order to install the game you will need something like 15GB of free hard drive space for it to work.
Because of the way the installer creates temporary files in Window directories before it creates the game folder, it will take up approximately 4x the space the final game will need. The temporary folders are deleted after the game is installed so that space is freed up again, but if you don't have about 15GB before you start it will tell you there's not enough space to install.

Your Maplestory folder should not be that large.
You probably have some failed installation temporary folders inside the Maplestory folder that are left over from times the installation didn't work and you had to start it again. Those temporary folders are supposed to be removed automatically but when the install fails it just leaves them there taking up your hard drive space.

There should be TWO folders in your Maplestory folder- "BlackCipher" and "HShield".
If there are any other folders (usually with names like "$$$jksljlgyosog" ) you should delete them to save hard drive space.
Leave the "BlackCipher" and "HShield" but delete any others.

Maple as of v109 is 3.5gigs for me.
