So this is pretty damn sad
For 5 days in a row one a really good friend of me decided to stay at home to play League of Legends instead of going to the beach with a bunch of people
i used to hang out with him everyday last summer, and we had really good times. I think its kind of sad that people nowadays put gaming before social contact..
I mean i like gaming as well but i dont put gaming before my social life..
Edit: its not that i have no other friends or anything lol its just weird how people change

Maybe he hates the beach? I know I hate it and I would prefer staying inside any day. Go somewhere else for a change.
Even then, I dunno why you care so much. Some people don't like being outside as much.

I think food addiction is next.
I absolutely hate the beach so I would honestly do the same thing. I'd be down to go play basketball, football or even soccer but I cannot stand the beach. It really isn't fun for me at all. Whenever I go the girls just lay down on a towel and some of my guy friends don't like swimming in the ocean and just sit there in the sand. I try to organize a frisbee or football game but no one ever wants to do anything on the beach.

aren't you the guy that raged at his friends for not buying a game (forgot the name, some PC or console game) to play with you?
That was me from like age 8 - 14 lol thankfully I grew out of my videogame addiction
Now I can't stand being home
Sometimes I don't wanna hang out with people cause I don't know what we'd talk about or do. Especially when it's just me and one person.
Alright, who am I kiddin'? I've only hung out with a friend or friends about 3 times in the past 3 years of high school.
I wish I had friends who wanted to go to the beach with me.
I changed school 5 times during my high school time and I only have 2 good friends.
One of them is boring as hell but really kind and fun, and we have the same humor.
So we're chilling once a week playing fifa together and drinking a beer outside. But he don't want to travel across the country.
And the other friend is really nice as well, we watch anime together and we drink some beer every saturday and play some games together the whole night.
I also go to festivals with him and such, but not really to the beach or stuff like that.
I'm going to college now, hopefully I finally find a bunch of nice people
I kind of agree and disagree at the same time with you OP.
I can honestly guarantee you that genuine friends await in college, unless you're unwilling to cast aside your comfort zone(s).
OT: If it bothers you, talk to him about it. Then again.. this is LoL we're talking about.
Don't judge people, what if your the weird one who keeps going out, instead of enjoying a game?
However, there's a clear distinction between "enjoying a game" and being obsessed with it to the point that you ignore your friends
And let's be honest, League of Legends has been the cause of much obsession- on a global scale, really. And as a mapler/ex-mapler you too must know what it means to be obsessed with something
Bottom line is that it is not healthy behavior, nothing in excess is
if he doesn't want to go, he doesn't want to go.
sorry 'bout it.
i used to stay home every single day of summer vacation either playing maple or sleeping.. it's not such a wild thing to grasp, let alone shame upon
the fact that you're looking down on him for choosing to do something he enjoys over something else he enjoys is kind of.. mean?
people go through things, i mean even i doubt that i was the same person i was last summer.
and uh, gaming is social, right?
maybe you're not standing outside and physically in touch with them, but it's really freaking social i might say
Don't judge people, what if your the weird one who keeps going out, instead of enjoying a game?

i have other friends lol? i may not explained it correctly in the topic but we went to the beach with a bunch of people, and he just stays home everytime
@OnlineMusic That's not the thing. He was always the guy who always wanted to play football and the best at sports, its just kind of weird to see that he prefers to stay home playing video games while its summer vacation.

I still dont get why it bothers you that much, do you miss your friend?

you sound really clingy
Get new friends?

all my friends cherish moments when they go outside lol. they don't care about gaming, since all of them have very little time just from school so going outside is gold
