Maplestorys download is extremely slow - please help?

So, I'd been having a lot of problems starting up Maplestory the past two weeks on my brand new laptop. After the patch come out today, MS wouldn't even load at all, so I raged and uninstalled. I started download and reinstalling, hoping that would help, but now it's saying that it's going to take 7 hours to download...? At points, it freezes completely, then says it's resuming download. It's stopped itself multiple times, and I have to start it up again myself. I have work, and I can't watch this thing download for 7 hours straight, haha.
My laptop is new, has loads of free space, I have great internet connection... I don't understand what's wrong.
I asked my brother to download the game on his old laptop, and that says 40minutes. My download started two hours ago, and it's at 20%. We started his download about 10 minutes ago, and it's 25%. >.<

That means something's wrong with my laptop, right?

I have been researching solutions for the past hour or so, but I can't find anything that's helping. I've checked my firewall, restarted my computer multiple times, turned off Norton Antivirus, shut down all other apps and screens, restarted my modem, and more.
I read something about Pando Mediabooster being really bad, and that it downloads the game from players and that there's a way to download it directly from Nexon, but I'm not sure how to do that. The link they gave was old and no longer existed ;P
Could it really be that my Pando just chose a player with super crappy internet connection? Or is it something else?
Last time I downloaded it on my laptop (less than two weeks ago), it took two hours to download.
I'm so confused, haha.

Any help at all would be great.
Thanks!

I successfully re-downloaded maplestory, so thanks for all the help!

However, I'm still getting an error that "the memory could not be read". I googled solutions, but all the answers are from 2008, and they're just suggesting things I've already tried (checking Windows for updates, scanning CPU, etc).
I'm going to assume that it's just Windows 8, for now. I'll send in an error report to nexon (like all the other Windows 8 users have already, probably), and wait anxiously to never get a reply xD

I hope they resolve this soon Everything was working perfectly fine before the patch (well, aside from the fact that it would randomly crash when starting).

Thanks again, to everyone who helped out. I really appreciate it

I know people who aren't able to download Maplestory on their Windows 8. But a bunch more are saying it's the Tempest patch on Windows 8.

tell us how slow its downloading, at what speeds? like 400KBps?1MBps? I recommend downloading from steam. Go to the steam website and make an account. Then download the steam program and go to the store section, search for maplestory and start downloading. For me it downloads 3-4 times faster than the website. If i try downloading directly from the website, it downloads at 400-500Kbps while in steam, i download at 2MBps and even up to 4MBps even though im paying for 2MBps speed, lol.
Although if you download it from steam, youll have to open maplestory from the gamelauncher every time you want to play, which is what i do and which is what ive always done.
website is store.steampowered.com

@Jtizim123 - Sounds like we're having the same problems, haha.

Lots of people have posted ways to help me out, so hopefully they help you, too. Up above, Misslime posted a link to download MS.
Perhaps try that?
I'm going to try that if this normal download hasn't worked by the time I'm back from work

@TheNewBeta - Oh, I had no idea you could do that. I'll try that if all else fails Thanks!

@Misslime - Ah, darn Hopefully Nexon will be able to resolve that during a maintenance or something... o.o

EDIT:

@xfallingdreams - Well, it does, because it's been working for me for the last 12 days. It's been a bumpy road with lots of problems, but once it starts, it works perfectly fine.
Unless you mean Tempest doesn't work on Windows 8.

@bwahax3 Also, Windows 8 doesn't seem to work for some people with Tempest so well.

@LegendM - Ah, maybe I'll try that tomorrow morning (: Thanks

@Mhmmmm - I'm trying that right now, but I noticed that when I came back from school after leaving it for two hours, that it had stopped itself at 7%. When I left to run some errands and come back, it stopped itself at 13%. So, if I leave it on, I think it'll just stop itself again. I'm gone for the evening to go to work, so I won't be able to check it and get it running again.

@Ryuushinou - Yes, I use wireless. The connectivity is normally super great, and everything loads super fast. I'm upstairs, and my router is downstairs, and I'm directly above it. I'll check my PC settings again and see if there's something I can change.

@Ryan12345 - I highly doubt it's my internet, considering it's normally very fast, and that my brothers' download is nearly finished, and we use the same internet.
But maybe the time is lying, as you suggested, and that it'll finish more quickly...

@xfallingdreams - It's an HP Pavilion G6, and it's Windows 8.

@Misslime - Ah, thanks for that link (: I'll try that next.

Thanks for all the help so far (:! I really appreciate it.

Try downloading the setup file. I'll try to get the raw .exe for you. I think PMB runs on a peer to peer connection, so the download speed for it might vary or something:it was downloading at 50 kb/s when I tried to download it on here.
Use older installer like V.118 and update it
Manual Patch for v123 isn't out and normal patcher only updates one version before it.

EDIT:Try to download this version and see if it downloads faster:http://download2.nexon.net/Game/MapleStory/FullVersion/Downloader/MSSetupv123.exe

What laptop did you just buy? Is it still Windows 7?

I believe you two are connected to the same router/modem? So your internet shouldn't be the problem. It's either a setting in your PC preventing you from P2P connection(That's what Pando does right?) or most likely something wrong between the connection between your laptop and your router.

Do you use wireless? If so, how's the connectivity? good? fair? poor? How far are you from your router?
