10 days of detention for insubordination

So, I took my phone out to check my email from one of my teachers, and a teacher just asked for my phone, but i said no.
She is not even my regular teacher she is a sub, and she wrote me up. Anything i can do?

There was no warning, AND I was going to put it back into my bag

If it was during class, it's actually kind of rude to text when someone's giving a lecture. Then again...I think having detention just for that it's a bit too much unless the sub-teacher first asked you to put it away and you didn't, then you deserve it.

One time I was texting in class and I got my phone taken away by my teacher. During lunch break, I was on my friends phone and notice my facebook was still on.

I dont know about you guys, but I wouldnt give my teacher my phone. if she says put it away, sure. put it in your locker? sure
but my teacher isnt holding on to it. might be just me, but I dont like people who think they have that right. thats like if my parents try to punish me by taking away my phone. No, I bought it, i pay the bill, its mine, I get to do with it what i want
