2 Handers and Divine Shield
So I have a very nice 2h VIP BW, and I was wondering if Divine Shield requires a shield or not? Since I wouldnt have guardian for a long time anyways, and since I still get the other passives other than 6% block chance, whether I wear a shield or not, if Divine Shield procs wihtout the need for a shield, then theres really no downside other than the extra 3 lines of pots you lose.
So yea. TL,DR: Will Divine Shield still proc when using a 2h?

Guardian is annoying I wish I didn't have that skill. It causes me to get 1/1'd and cursed more than I should just because when I guard or the attack misses I'll recieve another attack right after and this is extremely annoying when you dojo. Not a big loss on the shield part unless you are extremely funded where you would actually lose damage because you can afford weapon+shield. The VIP BW wouldn't be so bad for a weapon for now. I personally like the defense boost but that's more of a benefit that you don't really need.
Well I use a 2h for training, and a shield and sword for bossing....The diff between 1's and 2k in a boss run makes a difference, plus I can play with noobs telling them zak dont hurt, walk through it. I walk through and show them, and they die lol. For training tho its all just pure dmg so whatever weapon gives you most is best. Not like bearwolves or crockys or w.e. hit hard anyway
2Hs still have Guardian's 32% effects, it just loses the avoid rate.
Shield mastery is just for free training; the difference between 9,999 and 4,000 isn't game breaking where defense matters.
@Above: Saying that a 2H Pally's defense is just above a Hero's is like saying silver is barely worth more than tin because it doesn't match up to gold. We still have Achilles, 30% status resistance, 30% ele resistance, Divine Shield, Threaten, Power Guard, and HP Recovery over Heroes; they just have a 30%(?) damage reduction rate and the ability to blind mobs.
I still rarely use HP potions while training, and I recieve significantly less damage than every other class.
Like others said, you'll be missing out on tons of Wdef and guardian, both of which are pretty essential to the pally.
I don't really understand why you would make a paladin and use two-handed weapons but okay, Guardian is a great skill that you're going to be missing out on.
Pre BB :O

hes not going to be missing out on it he told us that he would not need a shield till he got Guardian meaning he will switch over at some point.
Perfect. So I can call my 163/35 VIP an endgame then (for now)
No it doesn't require a shield. Yet it still does activate when using a two-handed weapon.
