Nexon

Maplestory vs Vindictus

So, I was wondering wheather you people think Vindictus is a good game? Is it only in beta? Or is it good to play now? I was wondering if I would like it, counting the fact I love maple. Are they alike? Tell me your oppinion. I wanna know if its worth the dl to try.

I'd have to say Vindictus is pretty amazazing.
Just remember, this game came out, what like 3months ago? if that.
SO much potential for this game and games in the future that will follow the same gameplay as Vindictus.
So far, the game is ok, I'll give it about 6 months and it will dominate most other games.

I have a pretty suckish laptop and i can still hit 20-30 fps with no lag if i host (lowest settings, but the graphics dont seem so bad after a while). The gameplay is amazing...if anyone wants to prove me wrong, get up to level 21, and you'll unlock boat 3(Ainle), where you gain an actual storyline. The first two boats are boring with only grinding, but you can get past those in a few hours. The 3rd and fourth boat, everything gets more interesting. Join a guild, (Im in BasilMarket guild), and youll meet new people to grind with...it's really not that boring. Unlike maple, you need skill to play this game. Maple is only about how much money you have and what equips you can get with that money.

It just came out so content is not up to par. But, from an experienced player of both games' point of view, I can safely say Vindictus is much more fun.

Many people who complain about the repetition are either: A) Not far in the game, B) Near End Game content at the moment. The game just came out so chillax, it gets better later.

Also, to be fair, my computer's specs are amazing. (Max FPS (over 60) on highest settings).
I never said that mate. I was just pointing out that the points he was making were trivial since he didn't even give the game a chance, and complains about something that he does already in the game he currently plays, assuming he plays Maplestory since this IS a Maplestory forum. If he were to say that he just didn't like the atmosphere or the look of it, or didn't like the mechanics, etc. then his opinion would be just that, an opinion. I'm not hating or anything, it just pisses me off when I see people saying things that make them look dumb.

I got bored of Vindictus in 2 days because in MY OPINION, it was just you go to a dungeon, you kill some monsters, then you go back to town. And then you repeat it over again.
Infact, he did give it a chance. You don't have to play a game for a whole week/ month or something to give your perspective on it. If I am correct (considering I played Soul Master for a bit until it got shut down), Vindictus has no training areas (that aren't entered by a mission) and is a mission-based game. Maplestory allows for players to do more than just repeat a dungeon over and over again. Maplestory is nothing like that so I don't see why him pointing out that it feels repetitive automatically marks him as 'someone that didn't give the game a chance'.

I don't quite grasp why you would call his opinion dumb. It may be to you, but the thread is asking for everyone's opinions on the game. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Edit: Also, you don't have to say something that has already been implied.

You cannot compare a 2D game like Maplestory with a 3D game like Vindictus.

... Do you have no brain at all?

Vindictus is limited to North America and Canada. Maplestory is not.

For the time being, my opinion would be that Maplestory is superior unless I can try Vindictus for myself in New Zealand.
Hahaha this is funny...
Firstly, you played it for only 2 days! I know that if I only gave Maplestory 2 days, I wouldn't keep playing it (WOO SNAILS). And secondly, if you hate killing monsters and going back to town, why the hell do you play Maplestory? haha
I mean...at least each map has a boss and you can regularly do party play with people.
Take it from someone who has played Maplestory since beta, Vindictus is a better game and it's only been out for 2 months. That's saying something.
People have different tastes in gaming. His opinion is what it is - an opinion. Just because you like it, doesn't mean he has to like it too.
Vindictus is gender locked, which means all Fiona players are practically males.
I don't understand the problem with gender lock...
Why would someone care whether or not you're a guy or a girl behind your computer screen.
I have both a Lann and a Fiona...
I rarely get asked if I'm a girl or a guy. People really don't care when there's gender lock.

As of right now you can pretty much play both. Vindictus limits you from playing too much everyday (due to the token system and the lack of content). So in the meantime, you can play Maplestory as well.

I agree with you. Vindictus is a good break from all the stresses Maple has been causing for not just me, but for everyone else.
Vindictus- Blood and gore. Brutal gameplay on par with God of War, and games of that caliber. As a poster above said, no substance really, just repetitive at its core. An extremely EXTREMELY demanding graphics engine, that will lag so much you barely enjoy it (IF you don't have a good graphics card/computer). Overall, its a very dull experience after you play it for a few hours.

Maplestory- You already know. But in comparison to vindictus, maple has much more gameplay options, at least grinding on maple will be okay after the big bang patch next month, and flashy shiny skills that are much more awesome than blood and gore, etc.

Theres nothing worth it about vindictus right now. Just stay on maple no matter how boring it may be.
I rather think the opposite to what you say about Vindictus not being worth playing. Although Vindictus supposedly is a "demanding graphics engine", and needs a computer with roughly 4 GB ram(more or less)/good graphics card to run it, it runs alot better than Maplestory does right now. With all the problems people are having with Windows 7/Vista/XP Crashes, such as d/cing randomly in game and at bosses, noone is very happy with Nexon for the update they did that ruined everything so far. I know I ain't. -.-
Anyways, Vindictus is a 2.2 GB file, while Maplestory is a 1.5 GB (or so) file. Not a huge difference. I still find it hilarious how Vindictus never crashed for me, but Maplestory did.
On topic here: I find that Vindictus has a nice story to the game, beautifully detailed graphics, characters, and fighting style/gameplay. Obtaining items and weapons is rather a challenge, but well worth the effort. Lots of quests to keep you occupied while doing dungeons. Its rather fun with a party, very boring alone though

Anyways, just throwing my opinion out there, I'm sure there's more, but I'm too lazy to type it all out. -.-
Vindictus kicks Maplestory's butt. The person who said it's repetitive has obviously not played Vindictus enough to know. The higher leveled you get, the more skills you get and the more strategy and skill come into play. Like learning when to use certain skills, which by level 30 consists of over 6 different skills, and learning how to slip dash effectively so that you can dodge attacks and maintain your stamina bar, etc.
Maplestory is 10x more repetitve since you just jump around using the same key 24/7 with an occasional pot. Plus Maplestory is NX driven and with the scrolling system, completely seperates players from noob and pro.
Just stop fanboying it up and look at the facts.
Dude, Vindictus is like a 3-D Dungeon Fighters. All you do is run around killing monsters, maybe get a skill here, but overall, it's hideously repetitive. However, who is to say Maple is better? You can literally CPQ from level 30 to 71 now, this game just spits out levels, and by adding tweak after tweak to implementations/ gear for lower levels, they only segregate the funded from non-funded, and who wants to level with un-funded people, when people with 21-ATK WG's can take an entire map in 30 seconds?

Let's face it. Both games have good and bad points, but if you're looking for some 'spice' in an online game, you're more than likely not gonna find it in either one of these. I like them, but they could do with some modification.

Dragon Nest wasn't all too great
(Played Chinese Version)
They put a limit to how long you can play like Vindictus's Token system.
I say we all just agree that Nexon games suck and move on

@above The game just came out... Game cap will get to 200 later.
KR is at like 80 right now :O
If only they made Vindictus open world it would be on par with the most amazing game ever... which is still yet to be named.
I think they already made Open World in KR, and they'll probably expand on it later
Remember, this is a new game and a lot of improvement will hopefully be made on it.
@above It's Nexon, ofcoarse they're going to make it money based in the future, but it's not money based yet so it's a win for me.

Why are you comparing these 2 games?
They are completely different game styles
And Vindictus has only been out for like 2 months... Maplestory has been out for like what 5-6 years? idk
But I do like Vindictus better XD, They just need to take out that god damn token system -_-
Give the game a couple more months and it'll be pretty good.
Another thing, not sure how a maplestory player can criticize another game about being too repetitive lol.
People make me lol XD

Edit: Vindictus = skill,
Maplestory = who can spend the most money
:3
