Remote control or simply a keylogger is possible through Skype it happens in trades that involve cash that would be easier to do outside of MapleStory, hence Skype.
People don't rarely fall for it anymore but it's not impossible.

It's possible but not in the way you might think. It's just because of obtaining IP addresses, which is how some Twitch streamers got DDos'd. I don't think it can lead to Maple players losing their accounts though.
