Dealing with ants at home

I found a large number of ants in my basement today, not sure how they got in. Should I leave them alone or kill them all basil?

When ants run around my kitchen, I just get one of my kitties and use his paw to kill the ants. I'm pretty sure I'm conditioning them to kill ants and there are six kitties so my ant problem will be solved next summer.

Buy an anteater. Best investment ever, trust me.
Post pics of it when you get it

I hate ants so I most of the time I kill them. Pouring boiling water over them should do the trick.

@Quasar : Won't they just make anoter one?
If you want them gone try grinding up some corn or go buy some corn meal from the store. Sprinkle some (like a few spoon fulls) around the place where ants are coming from. They'll take it back to their nest to eat and explode since they can't digest it. Hopefully after a few days you won't see any left.
If you're against killing them some gruesomely you can try getting some orange juice and pasting it around the floor it messes up they movement (since they use their antennas or something and things like lemons orange and permanent marker act like barriers since it messes with their senses)

Follow the line of ants and that will lead you to the place where they got through. Then block that hole they came out of.

burn those mofos, just make sure not to burn your entire house down. Although if you do, record it and post it on youtube whenever you get the chance to.
