You should use storages in towns like Henesys and Magatia. As @lilazninja said, avoid storages in the FM and Ardentmill since they cost about 10x more.
The ardentmill and fm storages cost you to recover. Also some special places will have a storage fee over 100 mesos

Actually I first saw it on my CK in El Nath; at first I thought it was a CK-only tax 'cause everyone hates on them.
Checked Elden and the professional towns and its the same.
EDIT 2: So Ludi doesn't have the price difference; what's so special about El Nath to warrant the difference?
