What to do for phone?

So my upgrade is in May, but at this point I don't know how long my iPhone 4S will last me. Last time I got this phone, I didn't wait 5 months to get the iPhone 5, so this year I think I'll try to wait for a new cycle. Thought about Androids, and since I already have a Nexus 7, I don't see the point.
I checked on Amazon and relatively new models of unlocked Blackberrys are under $200, and I'm mostly looking at the ones that are under $150. I just have this thing for physical keyboards at the moment, and that price is relatively cheap for a new phone.
My only concern is how apps work on the new Blackberry OS. I had a Blackberry Curve before the iPhone, and the apps on the phone were nonexistent. Any current Blackberry users here?
Well fixing the phone would cost the same? Screen repairs are like $100...I think. That's how much I paid last time it cracked.
Don't forget that you should replace the phone's battery every 2-3 years, and iPhones aren't easy to take apart.

I have a blackberry Z10 and I can tell you that there are some apps but many of the famous apps are not in the app store. Like we barely have anything in the app store it's so boring to have a blackberry
I agree you should fix the screen for cheap instead of spending close to $200 for a new phone. I've never understood the desire to have the latest and greatest phone when the one you have still works fine. To this day, I still love the video from Jimmy Kimmel Live where they showed the iPhone 4 to people and said it was the new iPhone 5 and people were like "this is so much better than the old one" even though it was the old one lol.
I'm sorry but I really don't see a point in getting a few phone every time you can get an upgrade.. Like if it's in fine condition why would you replace it? Because the new cool iphone (insert number and Alphabet here) is out? What's the difference? The screens wider? The phones slimmer? Haha and I mean if u can just pay like 30 dollars to get it repaired in like the apple store I would definately just stick with your iphone.. I've had an iphone 4 (first and only phone) and I've kept it in nice condition and I'm not upgrading it anytime soon x__x
