Guide to Professions

Hi, this is my first go at making a guide of some sort. So don't go too harsh on the criticism.

[header] Summary of Skills[/header]

Harvesting:

Mining: With this skill you can Harvest ores and "Ore Fragments" from ore veins in the ground. You can also make Gems and Plates out of the mined ores for crafting

Herbalism: With this skill you can harvest herbs, seeds and "Herb Roots" from the plants you see in the ground

NOTE: The Ore Fragments and Herb Roots are traded for pouches from the tutors in the "Secret Mine" and "Secret Garden". When you have 100 of the item you can trade it in.

Crafting:

Accessory Crafting: With this skill you can craft things like rings and belts. You can also craft shoulder equips. You use the gems and plates that re obtained from mining

Smithing: This gives you the ability to craft weapons and armour using the plates and gems that you create with mining. You can also create arrows for bows and I would assume bullets as well.

Alchemy: This is a very useful skill, it allows you to craft your own potions using the herb oils and seed oils that you make.

[header] Harvesting Spots[/header]

Lower Levels: The secret gardens/mines in Ardentmill (the crafting town) are good. You get 10 minutes a day in each garden/mine to take as many herbs/ores in each garden as you can, use this time wisely. You can also pick a few herbs/ores here and there while training. But these are the best places.

Upper Levels: Orbis Tower. While travelling through here I noticed many herbs and rocks that I wanted to harvest but couldn't because it was pre-Artisan, i saw quite a few harvesting spots with high level herbs and ores ripe for the picking. If you happen to be training at Scarecrows or Jesters there are often very good herbs and veins on the pipes above where you train as well as one spot on the platform above the entrance.

[header]Training you crafting skill[/header]

Training your crafting skill is quite easy, especially at lower levels. I suggest making the items that don't require monster crystals. Although I have little experience with Smithing and Alchemy, I do know that Accessory Craftsmen can make rings with only 1 silver plate and 1 abrasive (you could give these to your alchemist character for fusion or extracting to make monster crystals). The rings give you +100 mastery but cost 5 fatigue points

Alchemists can make potions that give them +60mastery per batch and cost about 50k to make 50 potions (they heal 1000 HP or MP depending on what you make). These give +60 mastery and cost 3 fatigue points.

Smithing is somewhat of a "toughy" for me. I don't actually have a Smithing character. PM me some Smithing things to put in the this training section.

You can train your harvesting skill by harvesting a lot and making the raw materials for your crafting skill

Note: Crafting and harvesting can fail, resuting in the loss of the raw materials or nothing appearing from the harvested herb/vein

[header] Fatigue[/header]

Fatigue points are racked up from doing things like Harvesting and Crafting. Some things cost different amounts of fatigue and so can only be done for a certain number of times. Once you have filled your fatigue bar you can't do anything else that day.

You can drink a potion to restore your fatigue, they are as follows:

for 300k you can buy a potion that restores 5 points

for 1mil you can buy a potion that restores 10 points

you can only drink 3 of these a day.

Suggestion:
Make a mule to mine/harvest the ores/herbs and make the raw materials and transfer it to you crafter.

[header] Recipes[/header]

Although you can make many things as soon as you gain your skill, some things must have a recipe to make.

To use a recipe you simply double-click it and you permanently have the knowledge to make the item. The recipe is lost in the process so if you want another one you have to go buy it from one of the recipe sellers or find it as a drop from a monster.

[header] Imps[/header]

Imps are like cute little pets that you keep in a special inventory. They don't follow you around but when they're done growing they give you something special.

Gemstone Imps can be found from monster drops and ore veins. When fully grown they give you special diamonds.

Orange Imps can be found while harvesting herbs. They give you special fruit when they grow up.

Imps need to be fed armour, weapons or etc. items. They can become sick and if they do you have to give them a remdy that if bought in Ardentmill

[header] Item Crystals[/header]

These are obtained from extracting armour and weapons using alchemy. They are a key part in higher level crafting. That's pretty much it for item crystals.

[header] End[/header]

Well that's really it for the guide, PM things that should be added.

Thanks for reading
