Manon and Griffey Job Advance

I know this is like vastly over asked but w/e

So, I had an old friend ask me on FB today to help her kill Manon and Griffey for bishop job advance - She can't do it on her own because Manon and Griffey are inherently hard to kill for a priest, and she has an attack range around 5k. My paladin can do it no problem, but she told me that apparently killing Manon and Griffey is a solo job now.

I've been gone from the game for almost 2 years now, so could anyone bring me up to speed on how I should do this?

Thanks in advance for any replies, and sorry if I break any forum rules cuz Basil's rules are worse than a Byzantine conspiracy.
If you have a friend that's doing the 4th job advancement as an explorer as well, you can do it together.
Tested this on a PS, stay in the same party and hopefully it should work + you'll both get the thing that you need (manon cry or whatever)
Just going to say that testing this on a PS has absolutely no bearing on if it should work in legit Maple. PS's seem to be heavily modded in many ways from what I see, so it was most likely done for just that server, unless someone has tried to do this in GMS and it worked. But I highly doubt that.

On a priest, just keep potting until you can use HMS, then attack spam, then pot until HMS is available again. Probably the easiest way to do it if you're unfunded as a priest.

Yea, unless you happen to be new to the concept of Dispell, Stun and such in bossing situations, it's pretty much a ROFLSTOMP if you have any vague idea of what you're doing. My Bishop was my 3rd advancement(Post-BB but pre-solo Marauder, and White Knight, also pre-solo, both I solo'd with). If for some reason she's having trouble using Shining Ray, she can use Holy Arrow and slowly snipe them with it, Telecasting backwards when the bosses attack. When Holy Magic Shell gets charged that's her time to do damage and rush in with Shining Ray. Telecasting is somewhat safer, but I'm not sure if their attacks can reach after the Telecast. If they can, it's useless.

As said before, HP/MP potions(Power Elixirs, Elixirs, or more commonly Ginger Ales) are the potions to use against 1/1's since Magic Guard is not longer Dispelled she'll be able to tank a hit with a single potion after a 1/1 without recasting. She doesn't really need Magic Armor, so she can just commit to recasting Magic Guard, Invincible, Magic Booster, Holy Magic Shell(Once the cooldown is over) and Bless.

If I remember right, the Dispells/Stuns actually need their hits to damage you, so if she stands on them tanking damage she may very well be immune to them. I guess it's a bit risky since she could get 1/1'ed, but if she watches herself it should be pretty easy, that's personally how I did it.

If she really can't do it even with all that, well... I don't know what else to suggest. Buffing them beforehand will be gone as soon as a boss Dispells her, but if she tanks it I suppose something like Speed Infusion, Adv Bless, ect could be a little bit useful for some extra damage before a debuff. If the maps are the exact same as the normal fight maps then she should avoid standing where the Gofer things pop up, they'll stun her and leave her open for free hits. If Kents are in the map(I can't remember from when I advanced my Priest) then she could also tank hits on those; they do a lot less damage.

Like people have mentioned, pots that heal both HP/MP are extremely useful. Make sure to pot often and always keep your eye on the HP + MP bar, in case of an 1/1. Since both bosses dispel (everything but Magic Guard, fortunately) buff constantly and use Shell whenever possible. Evidently, Shining Ray will be your main attack. I did on my then Priest no problem. (I only died once! )

It's only hard if you're going in blind. Once you know what's going on, it's easy as f***.
So what I'm getting from this thread is that we can no longerbuy scrolls for 4th job, we must solo the bosses? am i right?
Yes you are correct.

This happened to me before too. I was trying to kill Manon/Griffey but it was super difficult (I was a ranger). I asked a random guy in leafre if he could please help me and he accepted. But as we entered the map where the bosses were, we realized that it had to be done solo.

It pretty much sucked but I eventually did it after a couple tries.

Tell her not to stand to close to them when she attacks or she could be dispelled really easily. It's actually pretty annoying when that happens lol.

Now you're required to fight this bosses and cannot "opt out" with the Secret Scroll. It shouldn't be too terribly hard even with a lower range, since Magic Guard is undispellable tell her to just keep that and maybe Invincible up (since that reduces 1/1 damage). Make sure she's using Ginger Ales for potions since they will counter the 1/1s effectively.

Also since she's a Priest, she could just use Holy Magic Shell, fight, wait for it to come off cooldown, fight, ad nauseum. That method would take even longer... I think.

At the end of the day, she just has to keep at it.

You guys, I have a huge question... I thought you could buy your way out? I know I did because mages+solo was pretty much impossible for me... you know first locating one and then actually killing it and not getting KSed.

Unless shes dying continuously then it should really be no problem.

Its just very time consuming.

Im sure she will eventually kill it if she survives long enough and attacks a lot.

But maybe a new wand/staff would be helpful to give/get her.
