iPod Touch Scratches
So you know how the Touch has the metal back to it? It has a whole bunch of light scratches on it (idk how, I got a case when I first bought it).
I was wondering if there was any way to fill them in or clean it? It makes me sad to see it like that

That's the thing about iPods. Their back is made out of a crappy material that scratches insanely easily. I personally I don't care about it though. Nobody's going to look at the back of my iPod.
Why do people care so much about scratches? I understand on the screen, but it's the back...
I know I can't speak for all people, but for me, it's the aesthetics of it. I like my things to look like I just took it out of its package.
An iPod is just a thing...Things are worthless. I wish I could just buy an iPad to throw it on the ground in front of everyone I know, but my parents would not approve...
O_O <-- My facial expression after reading that
I have to disagree. I take pride in the things I own and I work hard for them too.
@above: Yeah, it's annoying. You would think that Apple of all companies would make a better case. I think they know a lot of people think like me and want to end up buying a new iPod -.-
I dont understand why, but Apple has made iPods like that for years, with a back that is literally built to get scratches. The problem you have is a common issue. The only way to avoid this is if you get a protector skin, like those see-through plastic kinds, or a rubber case.

I've been having an off day. Don't mind me.
@above: yeah I've heard of that before. But I doubt I'm gonna sell it anytime soon since I just got it back in April.
If you're using silicone cases, dust and sand eventually get under them and make some light scratches. You might as well leave them till you want to sell it, then buy those iPod de-scratch kits. Basically they give you acid and you wear down the metal on the surface by a bit to level them to the scratches. Sounds painful, purely for cosmetics.
Yeah i think it might have been the case i had for it. It was kinda hard. I just bought a new softer one.
And i'm O.D.D. when it comes to screen protectors and keeping my screens clean. I always have a spare 3-pack o.O
just leave it. scratches are signs of usage and love. ♥

i bought a rubbery case for my itouch and it still doesn't have any scratches. all shiny and new
maybe you should buy a softer case.
So if I get a new iPod later on, do you think I should just go ahead and get the invisible shield for it?
No, get an actual case. I'm not sure why you didn't have a *good case before. Get a good case and a screen protector. Invisible shields are overpriced. If it's ill fitting or of bad quality you'll get scratches.

definitely.

no, you're supposed to use a cover so it doesn't get scratches.
Aww man that sucks to hear. My sister just got her iPod with the free MacBook and it looks so clean
