I use it because of the message system + voice chat + group(guild) notifications.
steam is good, updates all your games pretty frequently. Which is why most people would use it... however maplestory on steam is apparently bugged for some and keeps redownloading the full game whenever a new patch goes up.
TBH, i don't have it on steam because honestly i don't want some of my steam friends to know i play this game. lol ill be serious here, steam games are steam games; nexon games are embarrassing to play (except maybe vindictus i guess) though some of them know i play maplestory but its only the closest of friends.
