best class to start?
What is the best class to start for someone who has never played? Im trying to get my friend to start but I find maplestory is a game that you have to play for a while to enjoy it so what is a class that can grab your attention right away and keep it?

I would say Luminous because they have 2 sets of skills (Light and Dark), they have GREAT mobbing so it's basically easy training, and they don't really require too many pots. The skills are also pretty flashy <3
I'd say Phantom to try it out, then he can make whatever he wants.
Tell him to play Latale then he will say Maplestory is a copy of Latale. But we all know it is!

Phantom's are nice because it allows him to try out adventurer's skills.
Zeroes are also nice because he starts at a high level and they're very mobile. I'd say the only downside to a zero is that they're sorta hard to control, in my opinion.
After thinking about it a little, I concluded Mercedes. Gear is super cheap, mobility made the class quite fun for me, and when they get bored of it they still get the %exp link skill for every other character they make.
Phantom's story line grabbed me instantly. That's the character I first played when I started up in 2012.
Maybe you can also recommend Zero to your friend, although they aren't available for creation at the moment.
Sadly, Phantoms aren't the strongest characters, but I'm sure your friend won't mind that for their first character.
