Help needed with Law homework

I'm studying a Law subject and I need help to write my essay.
I have a case study in regards to share buy-back, which I have to relate to the Doctrine of capital maintenance. I know it's established from a case called Trevor v Whitworth (1887).

But I don't understand what happened in the case. My textbook just tell me the rule established but not what the case was about.
My teacher says that the case can be found on the internet. I've searched in the internet and I can't find anything.

Is any law students out there able to help explain the case to me?
Yes. Now look in the 12th volume of what I think is the Appellate Reports (check your law library, I could be wrong w/ the book), under case number 409.
That should be where your case file is located.

Or ask your law professor to decipher the citation for you, since I'm getting this off a self-help law book which includes how to find cases and law statues.
I sent an email to me law teacher, and he replied back.
Thanks for you help.
