My friend needs help buying a laptop So I came to basil to ask for help lol She says she needs it to do work in her government class like daily so she needs one asap. She wants a laptop that she can use throughout college (for the next 4ish years). She says her friend told her to buy a dell, but she thinks that's a bad idea cuz in her opinion, dell is a bad brand (I advised her not to look at the brand when buying a laptop). Also, she's not much of a gamer. She was looking at a mac book, but she says its really week and expencive. With this info I can guess the following - Her budget can go up to $1000 (but I dont think she needs to go anywhere near that high) - She needs portability - [b]BIG POINT: She wants a product that can last her thr

Non gaming laptop or desktop? Ideally, I want a lightweight laptop with a 3rd gen i5, and intel hd 4000 graphics under $600. this one fits the bill, but I feel like there should be something better for the money Is there a laptop that is better than the one I posted? I am also fine with a desktop if one blows away the laptop I posted, the problem is I know very little about desktops... and I'm not so sure where to start. So a lightweight laptop (<5.5lbs)(portability would be pretty important for me if I go the laptop route) or a desktop. I already have a keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.. I live in the united states. I play maple story and sometimes minecraft. Err. ok I'm done. Thanks

Now its superslow, outdated, and you can count 25 of these colored vertical lines on my desktop which apparently means that my screen is dying (costs ~$100 to replace) and now I will need a new laptop. Also, it cant stay on for more than 2 minutes when unpluged from the charger. Dont get me wrong here, it works pretty well still. Its just REALLY slow, REALLY outdated, and it can run a max of three basic programs (ex: itunes,2 tabs of chrome, and Word) at any given time without freezing up too bad. Now my dad wants me to get a new laptop, but I'm arguing that I sho
