Are familiar drop rates multiplicative or additive?

I've always been under the assumption that familiar drop rates are additive but I often see people refer to them as 1.6x (spider/mutant pig) or 2x (wolf). Does this mean they are in fact multiplicative when combined with % drop rate from equips or skills?

@Axnslicer: When hunting with HS as well as Showdown, I notice a significant increase in item drops. May just be a coincidence though, I hope someone can confirm this.
I'd like to know as well. I know for sure a winter is multiplicative, and that's canceled by the spider. I assume it is multiplicative with drop rate skills (such as HS hyper), 2x drop events, and 2x drop CS cards while drop rate equips are additive.
I have no clue how Showdown and HS interact with drop rate, if it's truly multiplicative then that's impressive, because for people with 200% in drop rate gears that makes HS the equivalent of a 60% drop rate equip.
You mean when combined with other things? Because alone multiplicative and additive can be the same (ie: +60% or 1.6x).
In terms of how they stack with other stuff it depends on the other thing being active.
Sorry yes, I should have been clearer. I mean when combined with other things like drop rate skills and drop rate equips.

I dont know for sure but i think it is multiplicative. By 1.6 we mean the spider familiar or daiyamo familiar. The 2x is from the Wolf underling.
