Out of all Chinese cartoons, Naruto is my favorite one.

The main thing I see that everyone complains about are the fillers, although personally I don't its fair on the mangaka to judge anime based on that because I doubt he wanted his anime to have fillers.

The reason that got me to dislike it was because they've been fighting the same people for way too long. One Piece gets away with being unable to defeat Shichibukai (I probably spelled that wrong), because they put in other side bad guys to put some freshness to it (like the Lightning user whose name eludes me) and it adds more to the world.
With Naruto, the Leaf Village is fighting the Akuski throughout most of the series. Which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't too long (good thing FMA would kinda short). I want to see other bad guys, but it is now too late because once they defeat Madara, adding new villains would seem forced.

Another thing that bugged me is the EndoTousai (this spelling is probably wrong too). I felt that reviving everyone made the anime cooler in the short run, but in the long run, it ruined itself because of lack of freshness and it makes death less serious (still better with that than DBZ).

Also, they have the flashbacks in the middle of the fight (Pain vs Jiraya in the manga and Sasuke and Kabato). Most anime have it before or after (I think there was one in One Piece in the beginning where Sanji has a flashback but that fight was more of a skill display).

Anyway, to OT: Naruto isn't considered the best anime since it has lived long enough that people start to resent it. Opinions are very weak little things that evolve constantly. Naruto sticks very well making it a great anime, but people develop weird expectations due to its status. Different flavors in the form of new anime with updated or different art piques the interest easily to the point that no one knows what's good anymore. Only those who have experienced all the anime would really be able to tell you if you are right. In general the concensus is "new is probably better".

And yeah, personally I can't find anything to refute you on Naruto being the best anime. In comparison to the other anime that are similar to it, with respect to its massive life span, it seems superior. Bleach is all action really. One piece's animation is not as fluid and plot is simply traveling the grand line. It is hard to compare to shorter anime, which are crisp and complete. Code Geass gave me sooo much closure. Gintama blew up my laughing box. In general Naruto has everything, good plot, good flow and foreshadowing besides fillers, good action, the movements are fluid and enticing, etc. It's really hard to beat since it deals in many trades and does well in all of them.

So yeah, someone try to prove him wrong. We are awkwardly waiting.

PS: um, animation quality is years ahead of its time.... its time is then AND now. back then sure it was epicly ahead. Now? it's running with the leading pack.

listen, how about you actually watch other animes? not other long animes like one piece or bleach which are overlong, but how about much shorter animes?
just a suggestion. currently am only waiting for naruto to end. it started great, but now it is either filler, flashback and maaaaybe 5min of action...

Just because other people don't like the same type of anime you do doesn't mean they're stupid. I like short animes that have a good conclusion. I'm into romcoms so action doesn't matter to me. You sound like one of those 12 year old girls telling people Justin Bieber or One Direction are the best singers there are or ever have been.

Whole entire Naruto x Sasuke relationship is annoying and the later part of the first series and first half of the Shippuden is completely reliant on it.
