Looking for a decent laptop for University

I'll be starting Uni in September, so I'm looking for a laptop (preferably below the ~$600 range). I don't game, so I won't need any spectacular specs. I'll mainly be using it for typing stuff up, watching videos, art, browsing Tumblr and storing photos/music. I guess a laptop with a decent amount of space, good battery life, and won't annoy me for being too slow or glitchy is good enough for me.

Thanks!

Honestly it seems like you don't want anything specific, everything you listed like " watching movies, browsing web, tumbler, decent battery life" can all already be found on nearly any new laptop out there on the market today.

So pretty much Any laptop out there seems to satisfy your criteria, as you really didn't list anything that every laptop model can't already do.

What country/state do you live in?
Can you order online? If you cannot order online, what stores are around you?
How much hard drive space do you want?
Do you have a preferred laptop weight?
Do you have a preferred screen size?

Mention any other special requests you may have. Be as detailed as you can with all your responses.

You could also play some relatively graphics intensive games with this.

This laptop is a great fit for a college student. It is rated up to 9 hours battery life, comes with a 500gb hard drive, has a 360 degree hinge so it is capable of being used as a bulky tablet, and it is small which is important if you plan on using it in class as desks tend to be small so lightweight and small is nice.
If you can, I'd go for the i3 model just because it would be more powerful, but it also hits the top end of your budget.

get something under 14 inches because theyre light-weight and small enough to fit in your bag. spec wise, theyre all around the same.
