What do guys really think when

a girl starts crying? It could be your girlfriend, your best friend, your sister, yo mama-- just anyone of the female gender. Does it matter if you're close to them or not/does it depend on who it is? I (accidentally) cried in front of one of my guy friends yesterday and he didn't say much, but I kept wondering what was going through his head at that point. I don't think I would have minded if he were to have said, "Okay that's enough crying now.. seriously stop, they're staring" (but he didn't because he's a sweetheart)

Or do you feel that it's always the same, regardless of gender? e.g. if a guy started crying, would you still react the same way you would if a girl started crying

I like it when a girl cries. I like it when people show real emotions and vulnerability. It makes them more human and relatable.
I don't like it when a guy cries unless he's doing in it for the right reasons like physical pain or death of a person.

i usually empathize. other times, i'll be trying hard not to laugh at their crying faces. shove their face into my chest and hug it out.

I lack .. well not empathy totally but when someone I know (a girl) who cries in front of me .. yeah I just sit there with a deer caught in headlights look.

I'm not much for comforting people, my personality doesn't allow me to as I'm use to being alone mostly as that's how I'm personally comfortable.

Last time someone cried in front of me, it was regarding something personal she was dealing with, suffice to say all I could do was hug her and tell her it was all right even though emotionally I couldn't relate.

I'm not too good with that stuff I guess but id try conforting them asking them whats wrong, what happened and figure what to do from there on.

"...You're so ugly when you cry
Please, just cut it out
...
Don't tell me you're sorry 'cause you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught
But you put on quite a show
Really had me going
But now it's time to go
Curtain's finally closing
That was quite a show
Very entertaining
But it's over now (but it's over now)
Go on and take a bow..."

Yes, i eventually sing the entire song.

I do the classic shiba inu paw on the shoulder.

It depends on the person though. I know if they usually pull stuff like that to siphon attention I have 0 pity for them.

If someone's crying, I would ask if they're ok.
If they say "ya", then I go.

IDK really, I'm not the person to cheer people up.

I'm awkward in these situations, so I don't say or do much.

Unless it's my girlfriend.

But if someone's crying for something dumb, I'm like "UGH LEAVE ME ALONE GO CRY TO SOMEONE ELSE"

I think they're sad.
I've only seen relatives cry though and I don't try to comfort them really, I just look away.

If it was a friend or a girlfriend then I'd probably try to comfort them or hug them or something. I'm a guy, so if it was a guy it'd be more awkward but I'd probably attempt humor and then do nothing. If it was a girl, especially one I like, then I'd probably put my arm around them or just something like that.
I would HOPE guys would want to comfort the girls they care for. Also it's dumb when people say, "oh a guy only acts like that because you're vulnerable", "he's gonna take advantage of you" etc. because some guys actually genuinely care. Or I want to believe so anyway
I believe guys care. The right guys.

I do what I normally do.
I dont bother them while theyre crying cause its hard to talk while crying and i cant understand them anyway.
So i just let them know when theyre ready to talk im available to listen.
And if they dont want to talk and just want the comfort then oh well they went to the wrong person.

If it was a girl coming to me crying I would hug her and idk probably wouldn't say much. <- probably because I don't have TOO much experience with women lol

If it were a guy I'd probably be talking more to him and be like ay bro/man whats wrong

Yea I would hug him/her. I'm pretty awkward when it comes to comforting people.
