Bishop

Im working on a Bishop, but dont know what to do?

Right now, I have a Cleric that's level 50, and I should be able to get it to 60 no problem.

But I still have a few questions about my skills as a cleric, and some other things that require clarifications on.

First off, I've maxed most things on my skill list right now, save Heal, MP eater and Holy Arrow. I feel that I could probably max everything in second job, but I'm not too sure. Should I be putting more points into Holy Arrow right now to maximize damage and cap it somewhere, or should I focus more on Heal and MP eater?

Also, it looks like the only guide to Bishops is a bit outdated, so do most of those tips still apply?

I've heard that Bishops are weak, and I'm feeling it a bit right now, but does it get worse from here?

I'm also pretty unfunded, with probably only quest equips or a reverse set to use at a higher level. Are there any better solutions?

Which skills as a bishop do I need Skill Books for, and are they important to get immediately?

Thank you very much.

Guessing from their post I would say they are not really funded and should go with a wand since they tend to be on the cheaper side. Loveless wand 30-50m compared to a staff at 100m. Seems to be the same price wise for emp as well.

Perhaps you didn't read my second post.

Empress is going to keep deflating since Nexon keeps making new equips. Investing in reverse is less worth it than you may think.

Empress is really the only noteworthy thing to get for cheap (clean)
w/ the only other one being for the Hat only (Root or zak). everything else is just random equips here and there and you could go into Crafting

Not that I know about, but like I said earlier you can try to make a little money to start merching or get your guildies to get you in an empress run or if they do them, to bring you some mage equips

EDIT:Or you can change some things of your reverse, for example I have a Queen's tiara that gives 18 to all and its epic and the Empress shoes a friend gave to me.
Get a chaos zakum helm or the regular one if you can
I still use shining ray from 3rd job because I can't afford to buy a book for angel ray; angel ray is a great skill, but it costs 150-300 mill to buy the book to learn it.
I think I can help you with that, PM me so we can set up times for zak and hilla , and maybe Root Abyss

OT: I personally find one use for Holy Arrow since in Balrog runs you can only use the 1st/2nd job skills, but it is still not worth to max before you get to the last levels.
Like many people above me said, max everything except Energy Bolt, Holy Arrow and Doom, but you can max them at level 185+.

I'd personally choose a staff since it has higher M.ATK , don't care about the speed since Spells aren't affected by it. Like someone in other thread said, all magic starts at Normal (6), with booster Fast (4) and those last 2 can be filled with SI or Decent SI + inner ability (?).

Get more money or tell your guildies to take you on an empress run so you can get the Empress equips for 140, those will suit you much better with much higher base INT/LUK and base Magic attack, apart from the decent set effect you get for equipping the 5, since the cape is kinda expensive.

You only need to get AR, you can get it from both Zakums/Hillas and I think both versions of all the abyss bosses.

As many people said, we are not a damage class but we aren't the worst of them all.

I'm glad people want to make bishops again
Wands are faster.
Staffs are slightly higher matk.

It's really your choice. I use a wand, just for the fact that angel ray is a slow attack as it is.
Hopefully, I'll get speed infusion on my gloves sooner or later.

Hmm~ I thought the attack speed of magic moves isnt affected by wand/staffs

Edit: I normally would use a staff because it has more base MAtt and it doesn't affect your angel ray attack speed
Perhaps not. It's just what I was told. If that is the case, a staff would be better. But it's not like I'd trade my end-game weapon for a staff for a few more matk; if I was starting out, maybe.

well right now, I'm keeping my eyes out for an advanced bless 30 book because my first one failed and there don't seem to be many of those around the fm lately... I never really found any use for holy arrow, i probably had about 10 sp in it after the skills were reset... I still use shining ray from 3rd job because I can't afford to buy a book for angel ray; angel ray is a great skill, but it costs 150-300 mill to buy the book to learn it. Honestly, I only purchased the books for genesis and big bang because they were ridiculously cheap, but they aren't the best skills to use. I'm going to assume that you have invincible maxed out (unless that's a third job skill, it's been a while so if I get it mixed up, sorry >&lt I also maxed infinity to 10, but it's been pretty useless lately. At third job, you should really max holy magic shell. And right now since you haven't already, you should focus on heal and mp eater; these two things will save you Bahamut is okay, I would recommend trying to find buff mastery mastery books, because it can make you stronger, also get arcane aim, it helps with your attack and damage as well ...

No difference really for a bishop. Choose whichever you like more, or has more magic attack on it.

Is Angel Ray the only Skill Book that I'll need to get?

Well, we don't do as much damage as others but we are not as weak as they makes out to be. U could be hard hitting with godly funds.
Anyways, u NEVER max energy bolt, holy arrow, or doom (unless u are dumping spare points at high levels). Max everything else. Some key points u should remember or u can do this in any order

-at 3rd job, put one into shining ray and then max holy symbol.
-at 4 job, put one ressurect, one genesis, and one ab. U only need one in ressurect cause ressurect is glitched do it has no cooldown.

The only skill books u need is ar and heros will (only be done through quest)

I'm only addressing one of your questions, but *never* use Holy Arrow. Seriously, don't bother putting points into it until you max everything else.
Max out Heal first, and train at Jesters Toyroom/Chimney, since Heal can do damage against them. Then you max out MP Eater, and finally dump your remaining points into Holy Arrow.

Bishop have doesn't exact dish out lots of damage, but it's not like we can't solo.
Bishop is more of a fun class moreso on the party side than the solo side (But we can still solo).
The books you need will depend on if you want to become a partying bishop or a soloing bishop
Btw: A party bishop is not a rope hanger who only gives buffs while partied*

Edit: As for skills,
1st Job: Everything except Magic Claw or Energy Bolt
2nd Job: Everything except Holy Arrow
3rd Job: Everything except doom
4th Job: However order depending on your play style
